Capcom recently announced price and date details for Final Fight: Double Impact, the publisher’s double offering of face-lifted classic arcade side-scrolling brawlers, which combines both the original Final Fight and Magic Sword into one downloadable package.
Final Fight: Double Impact not only comes standard with the aforementioned games, but also includes online multiplayer support, new visual filters (‘smooth’ and ‘crisp’) and unlocks, original remixed soundtracks, online leaderboards, as well as a special arcade cabinet play mode.
From information provided to consumer site IGN, the classic arcade side-scrolling beat ‘em up, Final Fight, will be making a comeback early next year in the form of a high definition remake.
Another mash-up story? Surely not… but indeed it is.
Fans of the Watchmen comics/graphics novels are clamouring for the Watchmen episodic games releasing on Xbox 360 and PS3 (and the movie, of course), but they are being denied by Old Man Time, as the release dates are still a little ways off.
What is a Watchmen fan to do? Perhaps you could partake in a little Flash gaming for once, and leave your fancy high-definition consoles alone for a second.
The game is pretty dang good, allowing you to play as either Nigh Owl or Silk Spectre, and fits the style of arcade games from the 80’s perfectly, although you can’t jump forward or do any air attacks… still, a great game to while away the time until the Watchmen movie and games are released.
Head on over here (may take a while to load) and then pop a quarter into the arcade machine to start.
