Square Enix has announced that the upcoming beta test for Final Fantasy XIV, the publisher’s next massively multiplayer online RPG (MMORPG), will begin this month, starting with a closed beta seeded with a selection of invited players.
After Microsoft and Nintendo made some impressive announcements at their respective E3 2009 press conferences, all eyes were on Sony to deliver equally noteworthy revelations, with many rumours (and confirmed rumours) floating around in the form of a new project from Kojima Productions, the PSP Go and further showings of their announced and unannounced games.

Sony and Square Enix have announced that a massively multiplayer online game, Final Fantasy 14, is currently in development and set for an exclusive release on the PlayStation 3 next year.
