505 Games and Rebellion’s Sniper Elite V2 has maintained its position at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this week despite a 38% sales drop, making it two in a row for the brutal, bone-crunching X-Ray shooter.
Prototype 2 brutalised the competition this past week by becoming the latest top-selling game on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing, coming out ahead of FIFA Street, FIFA 12 and Mass Effect 3.
Surprisingly, this is Activision Publishing’s first No. 1 on Chart Track’s all formats sales chart and despite launching on a Tuesday around the world, it still doesn’t match the first week sales performance of the original Prototype, when that game was released in June 2009.
UK sales tracking firm Chart Track says that only one new game entered its weekly list of Top 40 best-selling games in the region this past week. This single debut entry to the sales chart also happened to become the UK’s latest No. 1 game on the listing.
That game’s name? The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition.
We’re bored of the top performers in the Xbox LIVE Activity ranking. Call of Duty this. Call of Duty that. FIFA and Battlefield and Halo… and more Call of Duty!
The most interesting thing that happened in the most-played Xbox 360 chart this past week is that Skyrim managed to move up two places to No. 7. Yep. Kinda boring.
What’s exciting? Fez!
Despite a bit of a slip last week as Kinect Star Wars claimed No. 1 on Chart Track’s UK Software sales listing, FIFA Street (sales down 22%) has re-entered that lofty position, giving the title four (non-consecutive) weeks at the top of the chart.
Many of the best football teams and clubs reside in Europe so it’s no surprise that the UEFA Euro tournament held every four years draws in massive crowds and keeps millions of TV viewers on the edge of their seats. This year’s tournament is being held in Poland and Ukraine and runs from June 8th until July 1st. With 16 countries competing for the honour of being crowned Europe’s top team, will Spain lift the trophy for the second time in a row or can Germany or the Netherlands bring an abrupt halt to her winning ways?
EA takes the UK videogame sales chart by storm this week and holds four places in the top five and a total of six places in the overall Top Ten, which is a master achievement by anyone’s standards.
EA’s FIFA Street took the number one spot on the UK Software Chart this past week, driving last week’s winner, Mass Effect 3, into second place (sales down 74%). It’s been just over four years since the last FIFA Street, but this reboot has outperformed all the other FIFA Street’s opening week’s sales.
It’s official: The top five places on the Xbox LIVE Activity ranking are now boring. We would even go so far as to call this particular portion of the list ‘boh-ring.’
It’s the movement lower down the list, as well as the scraps going on in the Xbox LIVE Arcade game sales listing, that are of interest this week.
As expected, Mass Effect 3 has trumped all to become the top-selling game in the UK this past week, taking on heavyweights like SSX, FIFA 12, Mario Party 9 and newcomer Street Fighter X Tekken.
EA’s latest action snowboarding game makes an effortless move to the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this week after a hiatus of over five years and a debut appearance on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had begun to encroach on Call of Duty’s turf in recent weeks by claiming more and more popularity and play time over Xbox LIVE, managing to work its way up the Xbox LIVE Activity ranking list week after week.
Call of Duty doesn’t like that.
While Skyrim may rely on its ancient ‘Fus Roh Dah’ dragon shouts for strength, Call of Duty seems to have called upon legendary powers of its own - ‘Moh Wah Blah’ - and has banished Skyrim down the Activity list behind games like FIFA 12 and Battlefield 3.
For now, that is. For now.
UFC Undisputed 3 doesn’t care what your rank or title is. UFC Undisputed 3 doesn’t care where you’ve been or where you’re going. All UFC Undisputed 3 cares about is taking you down!
That’s exactly what UFC Undisputed 3 did this past week on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing and during its debut week on sale, the mixed martial arts game managed to fight its way straight to the top of the chart ahead of heavy hitters FIFA 12 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Action RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has ousted its Japanese counterpart, Final Fantasy XIII-2, from the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this week and heads straight to No. 1 during its first week on sale.
Chart Track notes that the last brand new intellectual property to hit the top spot in the chart was Dead Island in 2011, but the last time an original RPG was No. 1 was way back in 2000 with Pokemon Red. An amazing statistic!
Final Fantasy XIII-2 has broken FIFA 12’s reign at the top of Chart Track’s UK Software Sales this week by claiming the No. 1 position for itself, thus becoming the first new chart topper of 2012 during its debut week on sale.
