Core team members from Titan Studios, the creators of the popular PlayStation Network title Fat Princess, have formed a new development studio called Carbon Games.
From August 3rd (today) until August 9th (next Monday), North American PlayStation Network users will be able to take advantage of price reductions on a bunch of downloadable games, thanks to a week-long ‘Summer Sale’ on the PlayStation Store.
Highlights of the special offers include price reductions on Fat Princess and PixelJunk Shooter for PS3, ecoshift, Patchwork Heroes and Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars for PSP, as well as the minis Tetris and Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess.
There are quite a few more offers though, a few of which may take your fancy, so have a look:
New subscribers to the PlayStation Plus service can enjoy a whole bunch of PlayStation Network discounts and specials for Fat Princess. Not only will you be able to get your hands on Pink Princess and Blue Princess Avatars, but you’ll also be able to download the new Fat Roles expansion pack for 20% less!
The new PlayStation Plus subscription service became available across the US yesterday and so this week’s PlayStation Store is dominated by free games, trials, avatars and themes to new subscribers. If you’re a new subscriber you’ll also be able to pick up a whole bunch of titles on sale thanks to the Midway and TikGames/Creat Studios PlayStation Plus sale.
Meanwhile regular users of the PlayStation Network can get their hands on a couple of popular titles on sale, including Trine for $9.99 and LocoRoco Midnight Carnival for $7.49. You’ll also be able to download inFAMOUS, a demo for Lego Harry Potter and even new DLC for the popular Fat Princess.
Of course there is also an assortment of new tracks for both Guitar Hero and Rock Band, as well as themes and avatars to keep you busy.

Fat Princess fans rejoice because Sony loves you and has decided to release a new patch for your favourite PlayStation Network title, Fat Princess of course!
Patch 1.04 includes a new city-themed map called Brownie Town…and the best news is that its free and its available today!
Titan Studios has announced that the new patch for Fat Princess is now available on the PlayStation Network, along with a demo for the game.
And make sure you download Patch 1.03 because it contains a brand new city map called New Pork, and the map is free! Of course the patch will also add a couple of tweaks to the gameplay balance and systems so it’s a win-win situation.
Sony has spilt the beans on the newly announced DLC for popular PlayStation Network title Fat Princess.
Get your first glimpse of the new DLC, titled New Pork, in action below. The game was demoed by Titan Game Studios at PAX a couple of weeks ago. The new level will add a host of new features including secret passages, new fortifications and central resources. Titan also discuss the new patch for the game which will be released soon.
No word yet as to when New Pork will be released or how much it will cost.

Titan Studios have posted an update on their official blog that addresses some of the issues players of their new PlayStation Network game, Fat Princess, have been experiencing.
Chief amongst these problems is the inability to connect to a game online, or become unexpectedly disconnected, while issues with severe lag have also cropped up. From Titan’s blog post:
“We have implemented a number of fixes for previously identified problems, focusing most of our efforts on connection failures,” says the post. “We are working with Sony now to get the patch into the Sony testing process as soon as possible.
“Rest assured, we’re working on it, and think we have it largely addressed.”
This week’s PlayStation Store update is pretty good, with Fat Princess and Watchmen: The End Is Night Part 2 making their way to both the US and European services this week.
There’s also the promised Blink 182, Weezer and Kiss track packs for Rock Band, while there’s a Knuckle Sandwich track pack for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Other updates include downloadable content for Rag Doll Kung-Fu, Buzz! and Dynasty Warriors 6, in amongst some interesting videos.
There’s also a pack of God of War III wallpapers on the US PlayStation Store.

Fans of the upcoming tactical team action game from developer Titan Studios, Fat Princess, have been begging Sony for a release date for the past couple of months. Yesterday, Sony launched a sneak attack on unsuspecting enthusiasts by announcing that Fat Princess will be launching on the PlayStation Network this Thursday, the 30th of July!
Fat Princess will be released simultaneously worldwide in North America, Europe and Asia. The game will cost $14.99. A release for Japan is also being planned.

The trio talk about the inspiration behind this tactical team action game with Capture the Flag elements, except in this case the flag is a princess! They also discuss the charming art style, assure players that the blood and gore can be turned off making it parent friendly and talk about symmetrical multiplayer maps and the different environments in the game.
