So it looks as though Warner Bros. Interactive is going to continue with the whole live-action shtick as far as the trailers for this year’s FEAR 3 are concerned, and while I’m personally quite opposed to the idea, at least they’re a little fun to watch, and leave us with such amazing quips as:
“When it comes to death, it’s better to give than receive.”
Gobsmacking.
Why Warner Bros. Interactive continues to insist on overdosing its FEAR 3 trailers with gaudy, Screen Gems-esque live-action footage is beyond me, but at least this particular trailer for the first-person shooter contains some actual glimpses of in-game action, spliced in with the actors’ ‘interesting’ attempts at inciting excitement.
Watch below for your first looks at FEAR 3… the game:
Not too long ago, the cover of a Spanish gaming magazine emerged on the ‘net revealing that the third entry to the FEAR series of horror-themed first-person shooters was on the horizon, at the time known only as ‘F.3.A.R.’
To clear things up a bit, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has formally announced that FEAR 3 is currently in development at Day 1 Studios, with a planned release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this Autumn.
The third iteration of Monolith’s on-and-off series of first-person shooters, FEAR, may very well be getting a full reveal very soon, as the cover image of an upcoming Spanish magazine has begun doing the rounds featuring the familiar cast and lettering from the franchise.
And yes, it looks as though the third game will indeed be called F3AR, making it even more difficult for people to spell out in full - I’ve personally long since abandoned the full F.E.A.R. name, let alone F.3.A.R.
