As usual, PlayStation Plus subscribers in North America will soon be treated to a host of free games (Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee anyone?), special discount offers (Everyday Shooter!) and free themes.

Also, those of you in the US will soon be able to pick up a PlayStation Plus membership at a local retailer, thanks to the new PlayStation Plus membership cards which are set to become available this month at Target, GameStop, Walmart and Best Buy:

The US PlayStation Store has a few new interesting pieces of content, headed up by this year’s Spring Fever celebration, with price discounts on Gravity Crash and Everyday Shooter this week, with more deals and discounts coming down the pipe in the coming weeks.

The Store also has some new downloadable games in the form of Wakeboarding HD and Section 8, and special offers on Blue Toad Murder Files, while a host of add-on content also makes an appearance as LittleBigPlanet gets a bunch of Sonic-themed costumes, MAG gets a free DLC pack, a new track pack shows up for DJ Hero.

The PlayStation Network’s Spring Fever celebration is set to return this year with a series of content bundles, exclusive items, and price reductions on current games.

This week, the US PlayStation Store is celebrating Spring with sales on both Gravity Crash (PS3) and Everyday Shooter (PS3 and PSP), both of which will be reduced to $4.99 (usually $9.99).

Every week, new PSP and PS3 games and DLC will be available at lower than usual prices, and if you purchase these games during the Spring Fever celebration, you’ll be rewarded with male and female PlayStation Home avatar items.

Collecting all five items will net you a bee outfit (male) or “fashion-forward flowerpot costume” (female), which you can glimpse below:
