This week’s 3DS eShop update doesn’t have much in the way of new content but if you’re after another episode of Shaun the Sheep 3D and a new 3DS Download Software title then you won’t have anything to complain about. Art of Balance TOUCH! serves up 200 levels of addictive balancing challenges, making this physics-based puzzler an appealing proposition if you want to flex your brain while on the go.
The 3DS may be last in line to receive Rayman Origins but that doesn’t mean it will be any less enjoyable than its PC, console and PS Vita counterparts. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the fantastically colourful and bizarre levels of this excellent platformer appear in stereoscopic 3D, and to see how Ubisoft has utilised the 3DS’ bottom touch screen to enhance gameplay.
This week’s eShop update contains the usual sprinkling of Virtual Console, DSiWare and 3DS Download Software releases. There’s gravity-shifting platformer VVVVVV to wrap your head around, as well as Sonic Labyrinth and Curling Super Championship to keep you busy until the next content drop. I don’t know about you, but I’m still patiently waiting for Capcom to bring its excellent Ace Attorney series to the 3DS eShop.
This week’s eShop update serves up something a little special for 3DS gamers who are old enough to remember Nintendo’s Game & Watch series that proved a massive success during the 80s. The Game & Watch Gallery 2 can be found under the Virtual Console section of the eShop and includes five classic titles that are playable in both their original and remastered forms.
This week has been an important one for 3DS owners, with a significant firmware update being released yesterday and Nintendo Zone launching across Europe. The latest 3DS eShop update won’t set your handheld on fire but it nevertheless offers up a new puzzle game (Block Factory) as well as a full-featured animation tool (Inchworm Animation) for creative types.
The latest 3DS eShop update doesn’t have anything on the demo or Virtual Console fronts, but there are two games and three videos to keep you busy until the next update rolls around.
The 3DS eShop has started to sell video content from this week, so you can now purchase the seven-minute cartoon ‘The 3D Machine’ for 90p.
This week’s 3DS eShop update is headlined by the very first entry in Nintendo’s universally acclaimed The Legend of Zelda series. This NES title from 1986 should feel instantly familiar to fans of the franchise as it sees Link embark on a treacherous journey through Hyrule to retrieve the eight fragments of the Triforce and save Princess Zelda.
There’s no new demo on the 3DS eShop this week but the latest titles under the Virtual Console and DSiWare categories more than make up for this omission. The first batch of Game Gear titles arrives on the 3DS this week and these include such classics as Shinobi and Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble. I’m looking forward to checking out Triple Trouble in preparation for the release of Sonic 4: Episode II as both titles feature Tails as a playable character.
This week’s eShop Update sees another classic Mario title being added to the 3DS’ game library. Dr. Mario is a NES / Game Boy puzzle game from 1990 that sees the Italian plumber assume a far more prestigious role as he eradicates viruses by lining up capsules of the same colour.
This week’s 3DS eShop Update has a great mix of old and new. Metroid on Virtual Console sees you take on the role of female bounty hunter Samus Aran as she collects an assortment of awesome power-ups and takes the fight to galactic menace Mother Brain, while a demo for Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure will keep you on your toes with a sample of the game’s entertaining rhythm challenges.
This week’s 3DS eShop highlights include a long overdue demo for Dead or Alive: Dimensions as well as the classic Game Boy title Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters featuring angelic youngster Pit on a quest to recover three sacred treasures. If you’re gearing up for Kid Icarus: Uprising’s launch later this month then this Virtual Console title should serve as a great reference point for how much the series has changed after a 20-year stasis.
This week’s 3DS eShop update allows you to experience Mario in both his past and present forms. There’s a demo for Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games to try out, and you can now play the very first Super Mario title on your 3DS thanks to this absolute gem of a game being added to the Virtual Console section of the eShop.
This week’s 3DS eShop update doesn’t feature any heavy hitters but you’d be hard-pressed to find these quietly charming titles on any other platform.
The main attraction this week is Dillon’s Rolling Western - a new take on the tired tower defence genre set against the backdrop of the Wild West.
The UK 3DS eShop has been a far more lively place of late thanks to the availability of new demos on a weekly basis. This week 3DS gamers can look forward to scoring themselves a sample of Nintendogs + Cats when the eShop update goes live on Thursday.
This week’s eShop update has a couple of tasty morsels awaiting 3DS owners. The first game in the Wario Land series has been added to the Virtual Console and this fun platformer should prove nostalgic for anyone who was addicted to their Game Boy back in 1994.
