The month of April may have been a bit… light on exciting videogame releases and even though the low quantity was more than made up for with the quality of physical and digital releases this past month, May is going to kick 2012 into high gear.

While EA may only have a handful of games due for release in the month of March 2012, it’s still set to dominate with titles like SSX and FIFA Street, after having pulled the same trick in February by launching an avalanche of quality games.

But… what else does EA have in store for us in March… what… else

Welp, it’s completely slipped our minds on the minute, but we’re sure EA will have a bumper March! What other great new games are due for release around the world over the next 31 days?

There’ll be plenty of digital-only PS Vita games available on the PlayStation Store from tomorrow but few are as eye-catching as Hustle Kings. The game features incredible lighting effects, realistic ball physics and chic venues to marvel at, as well as plenty of addictive modes that will keep you returning to this excellent pool simulator time and time again.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss Screen 1

The story goes that Uncharted: Golden Abyss’ first-party developer - Bend Studio - was asked which Sony series they wanted to work on next after wrapping up the well-received PSP title Resistance: Retribution. By then the PS Vita was in the hands of developers so naturally Bend Studio opted to make a handheld version of one of the most beloved PlayStation franchises of all-time - Uncharted.

One of the games I’m most looking forward to checking out when I get my PS Vita is FIFA Football (called FIFA Soccer in North America). I’ve always enjoyed the FIFA games on consoles but generally find that there’s something more tempting to play whenever I sit down in front of the TV. Since FIFA Football is the only sports game in the Vita’s launch line-up I think it’ll be my go-to game when I just want to lie on the couch and unwind.

There’s no denying that PS Vita’s launch line-up is largely comprised of ports, spin-offs and sequels. However this makes perfect sense given that the Vita’s installed user base is still in its infancy. It should take a year or two before we see publishers significantly ramp up development costs for PS Vita games and this will lead to more original AAA titles being released for the system.

It’s not long now (nine days and counting) until the eagerly awaited PS Vita is available worldwide. The system will launch alongside more than twenty titles which can be purchased from the PlayStation Store or retail outlets, so choosing which games to pre-order or set aside money for can be a daunting task.

We’ll be covering as many of these titles as possible in the lead up to the Vita’s release next Wednesday to help remind our readers (and ourselves) what these launch games are all about.

PS Vita

Is February the biggest videogame release month of 2012? It’s surely going to be a contender to that claim, with roughly 70 games due for launch over the next 28 days. This number is boosted by the launch of the PS Vita this month, while no less than six EA games contribute to the line-up.

Can you handle February’s release schedule? Don’t worry, we’ll get through it, together:

We’re already a few days into August now, and there are still no signs of any quality game releases to keep us busy… well, with the exception of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet on Xbox LIVE. And Warhammer 40K: Kill Team on PlayStation Network. And the Resistance 3 multiplayer beta in North America…

OK, so there have been a few digital delights this week, but we’re still going to have to look a little way into the future to discover more game release highlights in August.

There are at least a few heavy-hitters in the list, and the team at El33tonline lets you know what they’re looking forward to in the latest El33t P33k!
