EA has released a batch of new screenshots for their upcoming sports game Grand Slam Tennis 2.
Head below to see the players in action at the US Open, Australian Open and French Open, and look forward to the game’s release on Xbox 360 and PS3 across PAL territories tomorrow, the 10th of February, with North America following on the 14th of February.
You might be forgiven for thinking that the action portrayed in SSX is a ‘sport.’
This year’s edition of Tiger Woods PGA Tour has a lot of new features and loads of real-world golfers to offer, but potentially the most exciting addition to the series with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is the inclusion of support for Kinect.
Imagine using the swing of your own arms to make a shot in the game, without a controller. Imagine using voice commands and simple hand gestures to set up your shots. Image Tiger Woods playing as Tiger Woods in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.
Wait, what?
EA’s thrill ride of snowboarding game, SSX, looks more and more exhilarating with every new reveal, from GeoTags to online functionality, to the use of real NASA data for maps and the game’s amazing visuals, not to mention the extreme-looking stunts and action - SSX ticks a lot of boxes!
With extreme snowboarding game SSX just six weeks away, EA has released an exhilarating trailer which runs through the main game modes and features found in the final product.
Currently in development at EA Tiburon, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 has recently received a concrete March release date while exciting new features have also been more fully detailed and announced, with information on the game’s Xbox 360 Kinect functionality, online and social features, the ‘golf legacy’ mode and revamped ‘swing’ mechanic.
Does SSX ‘look fantastic’ and is the multiplayer ‘amazing?’ Is EA’s upcoming snowboarding game ‘a top ride’ and one of the ‘most wanted games of the year?’
According to this latest gameplay trailer for SSX (which simultaneously acts as an ‘accolades’ video), all of the above is correct.
Many recent sports games employ a dual analog control scheme to provide players with a level of precision which just isn’t possible using the traditional face button setup. Grand Slam Tennis 2 continues this trend by offering a default control scheme called ‘Total Racket Control’, with the ‘arcade button’ variant relegated to the options menu.
The FIFA titles on PSP are somewhat underwhelming but EA Sports is looking to raise the bar considerably with FIFA Football on PS Vita.
The game has most of the bells and whistles of FIFA 12 on PS3, along with a number of exciting new features which give football fans unprecedented control over where the ball goes during passing, shooting and set pieces (such as free kicks).
If you’ve ever watched a Wimbledon final you’ll know how tense a game of tennis can get. Certain finals are so close that one netted drop shot or botched overhead slam can lead to a shift of momentum which ultimately determines the difference between a player lifting the coveted trophy or finishing the tournament as runner-up.
Disappointing, but not completely surprising given its previous delay…
That’s right - the release of EA’s snowboarding extravaganza, SSX, has once again been delayed, this time by a few weeks into late February (in North America) and early March (everywhere else).
Football fans around the world have had a string of great FIFA games to play on their home consoles over the last few years, but very little in the way of quality football titles to enjoy on a portable platform.
EA Sports is hoping to change this skewed scenario with the release of FIFA Football on PS Vita next February. The game boasts all the features you’ve come to expect from a console FIFA title - HD visuals, eight game modes, online multiplayer and over 500 officially licensed clubs.
Electronic Arts South Africa recently paid an unexpected visit to Johannesburg-based football club Orlando Pirates at their training base in Rosettenville.
The publisher was there in recognition of the team’s inclusion in FIFA 12, and handed over complementary copies of the game to excited team members who will no doubt take great pleasure in playing as virtual versions of themselves in one of 2011’s best-selling titles.
The next entry (and probable reboot) to the classic SSX snowboarding series has seen a slight delay and unfortunately won’t make its originally planned ‘January 2012’ launch window.
