It’s time to freshen up that classic dungeon-crawling experience in Dungeon Siege III with an injection of new adventures and abilities with today’s release of the ‘Treasures of the Sun’ downloadable content!
Square Enix has revealed details for new downloadable content for Dungeon Siege III. The new DLC pack, titled Treasures of the Sun, will allow players to explore more of the World of Ehb.
We kick-started our Dungeon Siege III competition a couple weeks ago now with the chance to win a single copy of the Xbox 360 version of Square Enix and Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG collaboration, as well as a Dungeon Siege shirt.
Gamers looked upon the prize and saw that it was good:
Megarom upped the ante, however, by providing more copies of Dungeon Siege III across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to give two winners the chance to experience the game’s awesome cooperative multiplayer and dive into the epic fantasy world with a friend.

Dungeon Siege III is not your typical sequel.
Firstly, it’s not made by the original team that crafted the marvellous Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2. Chris Taylor and his Gas Powered Games team sat this one out and handed the reigns over to veteran RPG sequel creators Obsidian Entertainment, responsible for follow-ups to Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and Fallout 3.
Secondly, Dungeon Siege III is the first game in the franchise to appear on consoles, and thus has been ‘dumbed down’ a bit and made even more action-oriented than before. This is not always a bad thing, but in this case it’s similar to taking a Michael Bay movie and ‘dumbing it down’ and adding more action: I didn’t think it was possible! So, what is the end result? A game that can delight and frustrate all at once.

So, a little while ago El33tonline and Megarom announced the beginning of our Dungeon Siege III competition. It was cool in its own right with the chance to win a copy of Square Enix and Obsidian’s dungeon-crawling RPG, as well as an awesome t-shirt.

No new game release managed to claim the top spot on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this past week because they were all thwarted by the latest chart hero, Zumba Fitness.
Stepping up from No. 3 the week previous to No. 1 this week, Zumba Fitness has been showing signs of domination for a while now following its reign at the top weeks ago, and not only is the title sitting in the throne, but it beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D to do it.
This month is packed to the bursting brim with exciting, important, explosive and otherwise amazing videogames, and may just represent the best month of gaming we’ve enjoyed so far in 2011.

Those of you who’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Square Enix’s latest action RPG will be pleased to know that a demo for Dungeon Siege III will be making its way to Xbox LIVE on May 31st.

Those of you in Europe (and other PAL territories) looking forward to the imminent release of Dungeon Siege III next month will need to temper your excitement by just a few notches, as publisher Square Enix has today announced a bit of a delay for the game.
Last week we caught up with a Dungeon Siege III character by the name of Katarina, a formidable fighter and magic user who just so happens to be a Lescanzi witch. Luckily, Katarina’s an ally and will use her skills in battle to destroy the forces of evil.
Phew!
This week we’re introduced to Lucas Montbarron, a noble and deadly warrior who uses sword and shield to batter and cleave his enemies with reckless abandon – watch him in action in a new character trailer for Dungeon Siege III:
Dungeon Siege 3 from Square Enix and Obsidian is shaping up to be a very interesting action RPG indeed, and with the game’s rich heritage behind it and respected game developer Chris Taylor overseeing development, chances are good that gamers looking for a title to fill the void in this brand of the genre won’t be disappointed!
While Dungeon Siege 3 is only due for release on May 27th in Europe and the UK, and then on May 31st in North America, you can, in the meantime, introduce yourself to one of your allies in the game, Katarina – a keen fighter trained in both magic and brutal warfare:
