There are a generous amount of price reductions on a bunch of great Xbox LIVE Arcade games this week, including deals on Call of Duty Classic, Duke Nukem 3D and Battlefield 1943, as well as Worms 2: Armageddon, Serious Sam HD and Peggle.
Hundreds of MS Points have been sliced off of the prices for the above titles, the full listing of which you can check out below:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 simply sucks (up) too much (of your time) these days to even care about when it comes to the Xbox LIVE Activity chart, and week after week, it effortlessly becomes the No. 1 most played game on the listing, ahead of games such as Halo 3, Call of Duty: World at War, Fifa 10 and Call of Duty 4.
Not even the recently released Aliens VS Predator made a dent, but this week’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the most likely to give the behemoth Modern Warfare 2 a run for its billion dollars.
In terms of top selling Xbox LIVE Arcade tittles, Duke Nukem 3D benefits from a recent Deal of the Week and becomes the top seller, as regulars Trials HD and Battlefield 1943 also show up at No. 2 and 3 respectively. Unfortunately, Darwinia+ from Introversion has slipped off of the Top Twenty chart completely…
The best selling Xbox LIVE Indie games list is dominated by new game Avatar Showdown, followed by The Impossible Game at No. 2 and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 at No. 3, both of which are sure to be put out by this ‘newcomer.’
The full global list of top played Xbox Live games, original Xbox games and top selling XBLA and Xbox LIVE Indie Games follows below, all based on unique users and full versions purchased (and now including the full top 20):
Ah, Duke Nukem 3D… a fond reminder of those nascent days of PC gaming, when the biggest, hottest games around were pixelated ‘3D’ shooters, and there were no bigger or hotter titles than the two titans (at the time) going head-to-head in the marketplace, the original Quake from id Software, and Duke Nukem 3D from 3D Realms.
All of that is ancient history now, though, and the ‘marketplace’ has shifted to that of the virtual Xbox LIVE Marketplace where Duke Nukem 3D is now available to members of Xbox LIVE for 800 MS Points… unless you’re a Gold member, in which case you can grab it (for one week only) for an incredibly low 400 MS Points, as this week’s Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week!
