Ubisoft Logo During a recent investor call, Ubisoft announced that both Driver: San Francisco and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier have been delayed from their previously held release windows of the first quarter of 2011, into fiscal 2012.

As a result, neither game will see a release before March 2011, and may even be pushed back into the end of year holiday season.

Driver: San Francisco Collector's EditionUbisoft has revealed that a Collector’s Edition for the publisher’s upcoming Driver reboot will be available across PAL territories when Driver: San Francisco makes an appearance on current generation platforms later this year.

The Collector’s Edition will contain a replica of a 1970 Dodge Challenger (18×9x9 cm) as well as two exclusive in-game vehicles and the Mass Chase challenge (where a driver who has been wrongfully accused attempts to escape the SF police force to prove his innocence).

Scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 2010 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, as well as the Mac (!), Ubisoft has officially announced that Driver: San Francisco is ‘a thing,’ and represents the first time the franchise has made an appearance on current generation platforms.

Ubisoft has gone and released a teaser trailer for the publisher’s upcoming Driver reboot, with scenes of a muscle car pulling off crazy moves in a parking lot.

The trailer also teases the location for this latest edition of the Driver series to be set in the city of San Francisco (with the lettering ‘SF’ appearing on a keyring), but that’s about as much information as is available, other than the hint that the game may release this year.
