The idea of a fancy-looking controller for your PlayStation 2 might be appealing, but it’s far more important that a replacement controller is as comfortable, durable and well made as the DualShock 2 is because you don’t spend most of your time looking at the controller but looking at the screen with the controller in your hands. As it happens, the iGlow Wired controller does a passable job at emulating the DualShock 2, so much so that I had no problem using it instead Sony’s famous controller for extended periods of time.

The dreamGEAR Multi Charger comes with very useful 4-in-1 USB charger for the Nintendo DS Lite, the PSP Slim and PSP, the GBA SP and Nintendo DS (original) and the GBA Micro. Also included in the blister-pack (which nearly took my fingers off, be well prepared before attempting the opening of it) is an emergency USB power pack which allows you to use 4 AAA batteries to supply power to a USB device.

The obvious use is to plug the USB charger into it and charge your portable game players, thus acting as a spare battery. The pack is rounded off with a tiny wall charger that is rated from 100 to 240 Volts and supplies a USB socket to use along with the multi-charging USB cable, but it only fits a US two-prong socket so to use it in South African plug points you’ll need a universal socket adapter.

The Wireless Link is perfect for those gamers who play a lot of games that utilize both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, but get annoyed at having the Nunchuk cable flap around in front of your face.

The concept behind the Wireless Link is quite simple, it basically turns the Nunchuk into a cord-free controller. In more scientific terms the Wireless Link is an adaptor for the Nunchuk and Wii Remote that allows you to play with no connecting wires. This cord free gaming is all thanks to a hidden storage area for the Nunchuk cord and an adaptor that plugs into the Wii Remote and provides cordless communication between the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

The bag is well made and attractively coloured in light grey, light blue and white. It has a padded pouch inside it for the console itself, and also has padding in all its material so it should protect your Wii from the knocks of travelling (although I still wouldn’t trust it to protect it on a flight).

The Jeli Sleeve is the perfect solution to keeping your Wii Fit Balance Board clean. It’s quite simple to fit it – turn the Balance Board upside down and slide the four open slots of the protective silicone sleeve over each leg one at a time. Each corner has three silicone pegs that should be pushed firmly into the three holes next to each leg on the board. There are also two silicone pegs that slot into place just below the power button.

These pegs ensure that the sleeve is securely fastened and does not move around on the board. There are an additional two pegs on the front side of the board but these don’t seem to have a function since there is no where they can slot into. However, with that being said, they don’t hinder the functionality of the sleeve at all. The power button is left exposed so you don’t have to take the cover off to turn the board on or off.

Although the Wii is not as notorious for overheating as other consoles, it does get quite hot, even when it’s in standby mode. In our sub-tropical climate and especially if your Wii is in a closed unit, it is a good idea to invest in a fan to cool your console down.
