This video encapsulates everything that promises to be great in Dissidia: Final Fantasy, with fast-paced action sequences on epic battlegrounds, capped off with enormously powerful abilities and summons, all taking place in the Final Fantasy universe comprising a venerable cast of the franchise’s heroes and villains.

Square Enix Ltd. has today announced that Dissidia: Final Fantasy for PSP will release across Europe and PAL territories on September 4th this year.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is, for all intents and purposes, a fighting game, although you’ll be able to choose to fight as a character from a list of fan-favourite Final Fantasy heroes and villans, chosen and included from the entire history of the franchise, and battle it out in fully 3D arenas, using classic Final Fantasy weapons and magic to overcome your opponents.

Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP BundleSony has announced that a new limited edition Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP Entertainment Pack will be available across North America in August.

The bundle includes a Mystic Silver PSP-3000, a copy of Dissidia Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children on UMD and a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo.

The Dissidia Final Fantasy PSP bundle will be available exclusively at GameStop for $199.99 from the 25th of August.

Fans of Final Fantasy (who also happen to own a PSP) will surely be looking forward to Dissidia: Final Fantasy when it releases later this year, a one-VS-one fighter featuring select heroes, villains and bosses from the entire Final Fantasy series of RPGs.

Square Enix have recently revealed that the PSP arena fighting game, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, will be heading to European and PAL regions ‘this autumn.’

President and chief executive officer of Square Enix Ltd, John Yamamoto said; “With so many favourite heroes and villains contained in one game, DISSIDIA -FINAL FANTASY- is certainly going to appeal to fans of FINAL FANTASY.

“We also hope that players unfamiliar with the series are also attracted by an action-packed experience that really showcases the PSP and is set to become an instant classic on the system.”

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is a one-on-one arena fighting game, heading exclusively to the PSP, which sees a large cast of heroes and villains from the history of the Final Fantasy franchise battling it out with physical and magic attacks.

Billed as a ‘dramatic progressive action’ game (but could also be thought of as a roaming beat-‘em-up), Dissidia: Final Fantasy, releasing on the PSP, follows the adventures of a range of fan-favourite characters from the Final Fantasy universe as they struggle with an epic battle against the god of discord, Chaos.

The basic action is reminiscent of a beat-‘em-up, as characters fight against one another to reduce their opponent’s health, while running around a fully 3D environment, able to use their surroundings to their advantage.

Seeing as how Dissidia: Final Fantasy is a game with many characters from the history of the Final Fantasy series, this kind of set-up is bound to lead to a bunch of geek-out moments, as, say, Cloud, fights against, say, Squall. Like in the video below:

Quite exciting for Final Fantasy fans, to say the least, when it releases in the West on PSP in the middle of this year. A bunch more geek-out moments lie in the videos below:
