New downloadable content for Disney Universe is now available on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network.

‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ level DLC is inspired by Tim Burton’s film about the “residents of a spooky dream land and their quest for a bit of holiday spirit.” It allows players to explore Halloween Town and suit up as five new characters: Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Doctor Finklestein and the Mayor of Halloween Town.

Disney Interactive Studios has released an explosive launch trailer to celebrate the release of Split/Second for the PSP this week.

Sumo Digital were in charge of development duties for the PSP instalment, and added four new Challenge modes that promise to test drivers in different ways. According to Disney, “each mode was designed with some key thoughts in mind – (1) blow things up; (2) race really fast; (3)use the environment to your advantage; (4) combine 1 to 3 while trying to get the highest score!”

Sony of Europe has posted an interesting interview with Jason Reid, the producer of Split/Second on their blog, discussing Disney Interactive Studio’s upcoming action racing game, Split/Second.

In the interview Reid discusses the six game modes, framerate as well as environments and Power Plays. He also reveals that developer Black Rock Studios took quite a bit of inspiration from Hollywood and Jerry Bruckheimer to create Split/Second.

A demo for Disney Interactive Studio’s action racing game, Split/Second, will be arriving on the US PlayStation Store today.

The demo is set in the Airport location and the track features “some incredible moments that YOU can trigger – including a navigational radar dish that explodes off its base and a tram that slams into a parking structure creating some real shock waves on the track.”

Split/Second Box ArtDisney Interactive Studios has released an interesting new ‘Making of’ video for their upcoming action racing game, Split/Second.

The video sees the developers discussing Tracks and Cars, revealing how each map will feature split routes which can be opened by triggering the Power Plays (which may destroy not only your opponents but the environment too) and then how each lap will change as a result of these.

Disney Interactive has released a new featurette video for its upcoming action racer Split/Second, this one detailing the game’s Survival mode.

Survival mode is a points based mode that can be enjoyed in single player, split-screen and online multiplayer. Players drive around a closed circuit racing against the clock, passing giant rigs that drop explosive barrels behind them – blue ones to slow you down and red to cause an instant wreck.

Toy Story 3Disney has unleashed the debut trailer for Toy Story 3: The Video Game upon the world, filled to the brim with loveable characters and colourful stages.

Toy Story 3: The Video Game is (you guessed it) the official video game for the upcoming Pixar movie Toy Story 3. Toy Story 3 sees Buzz, Woody and the rest of the toy gang relocated to a room full of “untamed tots” after Andy jets off to college.

The film is directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo) and you’ll be able to see it in 3D on the big screen on the 18th of June in the US and on the 23rd of July in the UK, as well as on the even bigger screen on Imax 3D.

A new trailer for upcoming action racing game Split/Second has been released, showing off explosive gameplay as players take out opponents and create shortcuts after destroying the environment with Power Plays.

A demo for the game just landed on Xbox Live, giving gamers the chance to try out the airport level from the game before Split/Second hits shelves on the 18th of May in North America and on the 21st of May in Europe, on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

It appears as though the action racing game Split/Second will be getting an Xbox 360-exclusive demo a little later this week, giving us a taste of the ‘airport’ level from the game.

Marvel Characters

It’s just been jointly announced that The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire comic book megalith Marvel Entertainment for a whopping $4 billion in a stock and cash transaction.

The acquisition, Disney says, highlights the company’s “strategic focus on quality branded content, technological innovation and international expansion to build long-term shareholder value.”

Disney Interactive Studios has announced that a new Pirates of the Caribbean game is in development at Propaganda Games. Titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, the new action RPG will feature an original story set within the Pirates of the Caribbean universe made popular by Johnny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow), Orlando Bloom (Will Turner) and Keira Knightley (Elizabeth Swann) who starred in the multimillion dollar movies.

Set before the events of the films, Armada of the Damned sees players taking on the role of a pirate and embarking on various land and sea adventures. The character and story will be affected by the moral and character choices players make along the way. You can also expect to encounter mystical creatures and supernatural elements familiar to the Pirates of the Caribbean world that will affect the way the story unfolds.

Disney has announced that Toy Story Mania!, a game inspired by the Disney/Pixar Toy Story franchise, will be released exclusively for the Wii this fall.

Toy Story Mania! will see players entering a carnival and trying their luck at shooting galleries and mini-games, some which require players to don 3D glasses. Up to four players will be able to enjoy the competitive and co-operative multiplayer options that developer Papaya Studio has promised.
