A follow-up to 2009’s excellent Diablo-esque dungeon crawler, Torchlight, has been officially announced by Runic Games, and promises to expand on the “whimsical and quirky world captured in the original Torchlight.”
Torchlight II, slated for release in the ‘Spring’ of 2011, will be brought to you by a veteran team of developers comprising designers who’ve worked on games such as Diablo and Diablo II, Mythos and Fate, and includes a new multiplayer element to allow gamers to play with their friends, or use the matchmaking service to meet new players:
