The new GAC Pack downloadable content for Dead to Rights: Retribution is now available for Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers in PAL territories. The DLC for Namco Bandai’s third-person action shooter includes two new gameplay modes as well as the ‘Jack Pack’ and ‘Shadow Pack’ DLC, which were previously only available to those who pre-ordered the game.
Dead to Rights: Retribution is a hard-hitting, explosive experience that has hints of noir films like Sin City and Max Payne rolled up into it and more than a dash of similarities to popular comic book superhero Batman and his Gotham City. It seems to have been inspired by these age-old favourites and yet still manages to make itself a name among this mould, creating a brutal and relentless journey that will draw you into the atmospheric gritty crime world of Jack Slate and his Grant City.

Namco Bandai and Volatile Games’ upcoming title, Dead to Rights: Retribution, now has a release date attached to it for gamers in both the US and Europe to mark in their calendars… or not, as the case may be.
It’s been a while since we last heard anything about the third-person action shooter Dead to Rights: Retribution, an apparent re-imagining of the original Dead to Rights’ characters and world.
Namco Bandai is looking to put that right, however, with the release of an action-packed gameplay trailer featuring protagonist Jack Slake, and his trusty sidekick crime-fighting dog, Shadow, as they both deal out serious damage to enemies with a variety of high-powered weaponry, as well as vicious biting, scratching and gnawing.
Watch below:
Everybody’s favourite action game featuring a sidekick dog (well, one of our favourites), Dead to Rights, is set to get a sequel in the form of Dead to Rights: Retribution. This much you know.
What you may not know, or may not have yet seen, is the video below where two of the developers on the game speak about the core features, as well as how they’re trying to recreate the franchise for both long-time fans, as well as a new audience of action-seeking gamers.
There’s a good amount of (what looks to be early) in-game footage from Dead to Rights Retribution included in the video, below:
Namco Bandai and Volatile Games have announced the development of Dead to Rights: Retribution, a “reimagining of the gritty crime drama franchise” for the Xbox 360 and PS3. So far the only date we have is 2009.
The game is set in the “neo-noir, morally corrupt and nightmarish world of Grant City” and sees players stepping into the shoes of vice-cop Jack Slate. It’s up to Slate, helped along by his vicious sidekick Shadow, to bring the shadowy underworld figures that control the crumbling metropolis to book.
According to the press release the game introduces a new hybrid combat system thanks to Volatile Games efforts to “unify third person shooting, hand-to-hand fighting and AI dog Shadow into a visceral, intense and seamless gameplay experience.” Players will take control of both Jack and Shadow during the game.
