We realise Team Ninja is trying something a little different with the long-running fighter franchise, Dead or Alive, but this video for Dead or Alive 5 is… very different!
Featuring a fight between Dead or Alive stalwarts Lei Fang and Zack, the video showcases a circus-themed fighting arena complete with fire hoops, leaping tigers, jack-in-the-box traps and costumes to match the insanity.

If you’re looking forward to the next Dead or Alive 5 fighter from Team Ninja this September, then you’ll be excited to look over the latest media blow-out for the game with a huge collection of screenshots and artwork showcasing the larger-than-life characters and events you’ll see while gripped by the brutal combat.
We’ve also included an epic fight sequence between two of the series’ well-known characters, Christie and Bayman, as they battle in the war-torn streets of the ‘Hotzone’ level - not your average backgrounds here:
We’ve seen some impressive new Dead or Alive 5 footage and screenshots during the past two weeks but the latest gameplay trailer released by Tecmo Koei shows a virtually uncut, three-round bout between returning characters Ayane and Hitomi.
We’ve grown accustomed to Team Ninja’s games sporting impressive visuals but the latest screenshots for Dead or Alive 5 show that the developer still has a few tricks up its sleeve in terms of tapping into the potential of current generation hardware.
It’s been over six years since Dead or Alive 4 was released on Xbox 360 so another entry in the series seems long overdue. Dead or Alive 5 promises to take the destructible arenas from past DOA titles to a whole new level and will feature familiar fighters such as Ayane and Kasumi as well as a couple of new faces.
Team Ninja has announced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show that the developer will indeed continue the beloved Dead or Alive fighting game series with a fifth iteration, releasing in 2012 on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
