The weekend’s come early here at El33tonline, with today being a public holiday in South Africa most of the El33t team have taken Friday off to enjoy some extra gaming time.

It’s an interesting mix of games on the menu this weekend (isn’t it always), ranging from new releases like Alice: Madness Returns, Duke Nukem: Forever and inFamous 2 to older titles that are still worthy of our attention like Red Dead Redemption and Dead Nation.

PlayStation Plus Splash

New treats have been detailed for those of you who are members of the PlayStation Network subscription programme, PlayStation Plus, with no less than two LittleBigPlanet delights and a Dead Nation delicacy to feast on.

That’s right – Housemarque’s isometric action game, Dead Nation, is scheduled to arrive today on the PlayStation Network in North America, and then tomorrow in Europe, allowing you to once again throw yourself into the fray to eradicate all manner of zombies, either on your own or with a friend thanks to the online and couch co-op option

Sony has announced a release date for Dead Nation, its upcoming third person shooter PSN exclusive zombie title.

Dead Nation features offline and online two player co-op play, a Platinum Trophy as well as a “lengthy campaign littered with hidden treasures, hugely upgradeable weapons and armor, and tremendous replay value thanks to a host of difficulty levels. The fifth and final difficulty level - ‘Undead’- will leave you breathless!”

Developers of the PlayStation Network shooter Super Stardust HD, Housemarque, have revealed that Dead Nation includes online co-op play. So you’ll be able to team up with friends, either via the PlayStation Network or on the same console, and let the zombies eat lead in this top-down perspective shooter.

We haven’t heard all that much about Dead Nation since the title was revealed at Gamescom last year, but it looks as if that’s all about to change!

Apparently Housemarque (developers of Super Star Dust HD) and Sony have been “purposefully quite about what [they’ve] got in store for [us]”, but will be “bringing [us] right up to speed with the game and what [we] can expect from the PSN exclusive zombie title at E3.”

Developers of the PlayStation Network shooter Super Stardust HD, Housemarque, have released a trailer for their next game, Dead Nation, and zombie fans will be pleased to know that this top-down perspective action shooter features many, many members of the flesh-eating family of undead.

Dead Nation will be releasing on the PlayStation Network “soon,” at which time gamers will be able to use copious amounts of bullets and explosions to continue their fight against armies of brainless, shambling wrecks.
