THQ and the Random House Publishing Group have announced that an original novel set in the rich Darksiders universe is due for release in May this year, and in time for the launch of Darksiders II!
In 2011, we’ve been treated to an overflowing bounty of fantastic games so time is short to go back and play older titles that friends have recommended - videogame backlogs are a depressing thing to behold.
Regardless, in this Question of the Day we still want to know:

The excellent console game Darksiders was all set to become an excellent PC game in June, too, but official word from THQ today has revealed that the beige-box version of this action adventure title will only become available near the end of September this year, with a special ‘Hell Book edition’ included.
Last week publisher THQ announced that its apocalyptic action adventure game Darksiders would be coming to the PC this June.
Developer Vigil Games is also handling the PC version of Darksiders, which they hope will include “the same great art style and dynamic gameplay” as the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions did.

While Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers have been enjoying their romp as War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, since January, developer Vigil Games has been hard at work crafting the PC version of the game to “deliver the same great art style and dynamic gameplay.”
Today is an exciting day as we announce the winners of our Darksiders and EA Sports Active: More Active Workouts competitions.
Darksiders was for me one of those titles that seemed to have flown under the radar, but kicked the year off to a flying start. It was so refreshing to not have to live through the hype cycle and be on constant spoiler alert. It was brilliant to be completely surprised by this epic game that came from nowhere and now all I can hope to do is encourage as many gamers as possible to get their hands on it, and look forward to the sequel of course!
Darksiders sees players stepping into the role of War, the first Horseman of the Apocalypse. This formidable foe is deceived into prematurely bringing about the end of the world. Thereafter, War stands accused of inciting a war between Heaven and Hell and is stripped of his powers but decides to return to Earth, which is now under the grips of demonic forces, to punish those responsible. However, the journey he faces across the decimated Earth is not easy as he is hunted by a band of vengeful angels as well as terrifying creatures from Hell, some of whom he must forge uneasy alliances with in order to continue his quest.

You know what’s cool? God of War III is cool. You know what’s even better? It’s the chance to give God of War III a spin a full half a month before it’s released around the world!
Yep, there is now a God of War III demo right there on your PlayStation Store! Go have a look if you don’t believe me!
Also making an appearance this week are demos for both Darksiders and Digger HD, both of which also beg your attention, while a new downloadable game, Greed Corp, has also risen to the surface.
The usual assortment of add-on content, excellent price updates, Guitar Hero and Rock Band tracks, interesting videos and PSP content (including new game Ecoshift) have also been added to the US PlayStation Store this week, so be sure to have a good look through a list of it all below:
Do you perchance wish to win a limited edition ‘Bioshock 2: Rapture Edition,’ complete with a copy of the game, an artbook featuring the art of Bioshock 2 as well as the original score for the game on both CD and LP?
What about a copy of EA Sports Active: More Workouts for the Wii? Or a copy of Darksiders on the PS3 or Xbox 360, as well as a limited edition T-shirt featuring a design from the game?

If you design a hand drawn Darksiders image and submit it to the Ster Kinekor facebook group you could win the chance to get your design tattooed wherever you choose as well as an Iron Fist clothing hamper valued at R1000!
THQ have announced that a 90 minute demo for Darksiders will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 next week.
The demo will feature the entire first dungeon encounter from the game known as the Twilight Cathedral. The level includes puzzles, new equipment and boss battles against the demo Jailer and the bat Tiamat.
If you bought an early US copy of the action adventure game Darksiders, then you may just have a little treat waiting inside the box.
You see, publishers of Darksiders THQ put a little redemption coupon inside Xbox 360 and PS3 copies of the game that was marked with the words “Do Not Discard,” and owners were instructed to visit the Darksiders website to wait and see what the coupon was for.
A month later, we get to see what it does.

THQ has let everybody know that a title update for the Xbox 360 version of the publisher’s latest action adventure game, Darksiders, is now available to fix an occasional screen tearing issue players were experiencing.
If you’re connected to Xbox LIVE, the update will download automatically the next time you start the game, thus fixing the problem.
