It’s been a while since a top-down or isometric role-playing game with a more traditional style of play has come across my desk. Confrontation can be described as an old-school RPG with ideas in the Baldur’s Gate era of party-based strategic combat, but with a few new touches added. That description more than anything else got me intrigued.

Set in the war torn world called Aarklash, your mission in Confrontation is to use the various factions of Akkylannians to confront the threat currently offered by the evil Alchemists of Dirz. The PC game is an adaptation of Confrontation the board game, and as such the story is very rich and the characters are well developed.

A brand new trailer for Cyanide Studio’s upcoming RPG epic has been released, showcasing some of the intriguing characters, environments and story moments we may encounter as we play through Game of Thrones on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2012.
Cyanide Studio has today released two screenshots of its upcoming PC title, A Game of Thrones – Genesis, a strategy game adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series of novels.
According to Cyanide, A Game of Thrones – Genesis will test “your political prowess” as equally as your strategic and military skills:
