We all know by now that Twisted Pixel’s latest downloadable title for Xbox LIVE Arcade, Comic Jumper, has been unleashed onto the Marketplace, and is currently earning an enormous amount of ‘Internet Kudos’ and positive buzz thanks to the game’s sharp humour, great characters, and fantastic environments, action and situations.
But if there’s one guy that won’t rest until everybody on Xbox LIVE Marketplace knows about Comic Jumper, it’s Xbox frontman Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb, and in the Inside Xbox video below, Nelson shows you just how far he’s willing to go in the name of Twisted Pixel’s awesome new game.
Watch ‘Nelson’ run for his life in an attempt to escape real life BradBots, as ‘he’ climbs over tables, wall-runs, dupes an unwitting bystander into becoming a diversion, and more.
A brilliant, excellently humorous video, which should be watched by you… now:
Are you having a bit of a bad day? A bad week, even? Do you need a good, solid pick-me-up game to help slap a smile on your face?
Well my friend, look no further than the latest addition to Xbox LIVE Arcade’s line-up of games, Comic Jumper!
Already being called ‘hilarious’ by basically everyone residing on the Internet, Comic Jumper is what one would term a ‘mega-action, super-platform game,’ as this title simply wouldn’t be content with normal videogame standards and conventions.
If you’ve seen any gameplay footage, you’ll certainly understand!
The time has come! Twisted Pixel and Microsoft Game Studios have today jointly announced an official release date for the developer’s awesome upcoming game, Comic Jumper!
In addition, Twisted Pixel has revealed the fourth comic style to be included in Comic Jumper, and it’s none other than the unmistakable Japanese art technique of Manga!
You may not know his name, but you certainly know his game – game developer Dan Teasdale has been working at Harmonix for a number of years, contributing to the development of a few iterations of Rock Band in a variety of roles, including senior and lead designer.
Now that development of the currently in-the-works Rock Band 3 is coming to a close, Teasdale has decided it’s time to try something a little different, and get back to a development role that allows him both the freedom to “help drive the vision and direction of a game,” and be more hands-on with a game, and “physically implement and iterate on the low level of making games in a more substantial way than time affords me when working as a lead on multi-hundred person titles.”
Developers Twisted Pixel are hard at work on their third original IP, Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley.
So far we don’t know too much about the title, but judging from these new gameplay videos it looks like it will be just as excellent as The Maw and Splosion Man.
Developers Twisted Pixel announced that they were working on their third original IP, Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley, in September last year.
Since then things have been quiet, but expect more news soon. That’s according to Michael Milford, Co-founder and CEO of Twisted Pixel Games, who updated his Twitter page with this post: “Working on putting together some cool new info that can be revealed soon about Comic Jumper….”
Last week developers Twisted Pixel announced that they were already working on their next project which will be another original IP.
As expected, the developers revealed details of their third original IP at this weekend’s PAX show. Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley looks set to follow in the footsteps of The Maw and Splosion Man by being both charming and entertaining.
