Minecraft is currently the second most played game on Xbox LIVE. That’s according to the weekly Xbox LIVE activity chart which shows that Minecraft moved up from third place last week, overtaking Call of Duty: Black Ops to secure second, beaten only by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Now that Call of Duty: Elite’s premium members have had their fill, all Xbox 360 players are now able to purchase and download the latest collection of content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Now available to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 players on Xbox 360, the all-new ‘Face Off’ game mode brings up-close-and-personal 1v1 and 2v2 matches to the game with specially designed maps suited for the occasion.
Activision has sent out an awesome trailer to demonstrate Face Off in action, with intense looks at the four currently available maps, too.
It’s time to jump into a whole new way to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, with the release of the brand new Face-Off mode which pits two teams of two players each against one another in specially-designed arenas.
If you’re a Call of Duty Elite subscriber on either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 then you’re going to want to be playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for as long as possible from now until next week.
Why’s that? Because Infinity Ward has kept the Double XP celebration going on the game’s Elite playlists!
Ahead of the next deluge of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content scheduled to hit Xbox LIVE and Call of Duty Elite subscribers this week and next, a massive screenshot explosion has erupted o’er the videogame land.
The fallout has covered us all in bits, bytes and pixels of images demonstrating to Modern Warfare 3 players the kinds of multiplayer arenas we can expect to drop into very soon, both for free and as paid content.
Since release, Activision and Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer Games have been doing their level-headed best to make an absolute mess of the downloadable content schedule messaging to their fans, with Content Drops, Collections, Elite-exclusive, paid and free odds and ends arriving for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on any given week across all platforms.
Luckily for them, there are people who are still determined to sort through the dross and attempt to make clear sense of their delivery schedule.
Here we go again:
Robert Bowling’s professional videogame development career has been illustrious indeed, having until recently held the position of ‘Creative Strategist’ at Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward while stewarding the public’s perception of this multi-million unit selling, multi-billion dollar franchise.
That all changed at the end of March when Bowling unexpectedly announced his departure from Infinity Ward and Activision, with plans to strike off on his own in the world of game development.

The most interesting thing that happened in the most-played Xbox 360 chart this past week is that Skyrim managed to move up two places to No. 7. Yep. Kinda boring.
What’s exciting? Fez!
It’s a great time to be a Call of Duty player, it seems, what with a bunch of new Content Drops hitting left and right, and Double XP Weekends being liberally thrown about.
Why, just this week PlayStation 3 gamers will be able to pick up Content Collection 1 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which includes four multiplayer maps and two Special Ops missions!
Not only that, but a brand new Double XP Weekend goes live soon, too!
Standard practice for the release of any major downloadable content is to tease and announce the DLC weeks in advance, trickle some information here and there with videos and screenshots and then make a big song and dance about that content’s eventual release on launch day.
Not so with the latest Content Drops for premium members of Call of Duty Elite on Xbox LIVE: You all will be getting two new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps today!
The Xbox LIVE activity chart hasn’t changed much in the past few weeks with the two most recent Call of Duty games and FIFA 12 still making up the top three. Further down the chart we see Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City at number 14 - not a bad place to be considering the mostly poor reviews it’s received since its release.
March 20th signalled the release of the first Content Drop for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, unimaginatively called: Collection 1. Included in this downloadable content (DLC) pack for all the non-Elite subscribers are four new multiplayer maps and, for the first time, two new Spec Ops missions.
So is the ‘biggest content pack for any Call of Duty game ever’ actually worth the quite hefty price of 1200 Microsoft Points? Read on and find out, soldier!

Robert Bowling has just announced that he has resigned from his position at Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward, as well as Activision as a whole.
In a Twitter posting on his official account, Bowling wrote:
