EL33TONLINE: News tag archive: brainteasertuesday
Another week flew by and another Guess the Game challenge was solved within minutes of being posted. Nothing slips past you guys!
Somehow I totally messed up last week and never actually posted anything in the Guess the Game field. I blame long weekends and longer drives to places where the air is very thin and smoggy… Thanks Jo’burg!
Apparently the previous entry in the series was not challenging at all.
[Update]
We’ve added a bonus ‘Classic Screenshot’ to Oltman’s feature today, submitted by El33tonline friend and reader creepy360 - you can find it below!
[End of update]
With some sneaky cropping I managed to squeeze another winner past even the extremely observant of you in last week’s ‘Guess the Game’ brainteaser. Don’t for a moment think that I take pleasure in beating you.
On second thought, maybe I do!
Having recently gifted my tags to a player in Battlefield 3, it was with a sneaky smile that I reviewed everybody’s guesses from last week again this morning.
Guessing the game is hard sometimes, don’t you think?
Week after week, my attempts to stump you all are thwarted by the sharp eyes and far-reaching game knowledge of POItie, so I’m going to have to up my game in the future - thanks to Pieter, as well as Graeme, for your contributions to the weekly feature!
Now, onto this week’s challenge…
I am writing this article full of glee! No, it does not mean I take popular songs and sing them with a bunch of school glee club members. It means I finally got you guys properly last week!
Admittedly, it was a sneaky way to do it, but I am resorting to these lowly tactics out of desperation!
In a slight miscalculation on my part (where does the time go!) today is in fact not Tuesday, but Thursday. When you lose track of time like this it is a good idea to take a day off and recover. Although that will put me a day behind and we end up where we are right now!
It turns out that my feeble attempt at discouraging you guys last week failed miserably. It also appears that every episode of ‘Guess the Game’ starts off with me lamenting my inability to catch you guys out.
Karateka! The classic game from last week prompted many gamers to reminisce about its insane difficulty, and Graeme also rightly mentions that Jordan Mechner of Prince of Persia fame is contemplating a remake for current consoles.
Again, you guys amaze me with your skill, talent and knowledge of obscure gaming trivia. I am very proud of you. They grow up so fast.
The news last week was indeed from Asura’s Wrath, although some of your spelling left a lot to be desired. It is the thought that counts, right? Asura’s Wrath releases in March and the bad news was of its delay until then.
This is going to be one crazy epic game!
Welcome to this special Valentine’s edition of Guess the Game!
Right, so you guys are way too smart and guess my games too easily. I think I have been a bit too soft on you guys. Prepare to be amazed! And if you guess it too soon I will be the amazed one!
Last week we tried a new feature called ‘Guess the Game’ where you, our wise and well gamed readers, are presented with two screenshots.
The first screenshot is of a classic game that really tests your knowledge of gaming from times past. The second is a cropping of a more recent news article on El33tonline, to test just how much attention you are paying when trawling around the site for your gaming fix.
