By now, we’ve all read about the hoopla surrounding Infinity Ward’s decision to implement their own online backend infrastructure, known as IWNET, to take care of matchmaking and other miscellaneous services designed to make your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer experiences a little bit easier and smoother.
PC gamers have cried foul, however, as the decision removes the ability to set up custom, user-run dedicated servers, resulting in a 135 000 signature-strong online petition to convince Infinity Ward to reconsider their implementation of IWNET, to which the faces of Infinity Ward have replied with not-very-promising (for the PC community) comments.
Now, user ‘Lelldorianx’ on Gamer’s Nexus is trying to set up an ‘official’ Modern Warfare 2 boycott, with a list of rules that potential boycotters of the game need to follow in order to make the best impact:
