Green Day: Rock Band Box ArtGreen Day, Harmonix, MTV Games and Reprise / Warner Bros. Records (phew) has announced that the group’s standalone videogame collaboration, Green Day: Rock Band, is set to release on June 8th for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, with pricing structures announced for each platform.

Green Day: Rock Band aims to allow players access to the full ‘Green Day experience,’ as you “step onto the stage and into the shoes of Green Day, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band that jump-started the punk-pop revival and has continued to pave the way for American rock music into the 21st century.”

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 Box ArtEA has today announced a solid release date for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (which will feature the prestigious Ryder Cup golf tournament in-game) while also revealing that the game will support Sony’s PS3 motion controller, in addition to the Wii MotionPlus for the Wii version.

In Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, players will be able to compete in The Ryder Cup by selecting a team from either the US or European squads and take part in a variety of competition formats to eventually (and hopefully) win the biennial event in-game.

Players will also be able to participate in a 24-person team-match online via Xbox 360 or PS3 and strategise with one another over Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network.

Alan Wake Box ArtMicrosoft and Remedy have together unveiled the official box art for what many have taken to calling a ‘psychological action thriller,’ throwing in the word ‘masterpiece’ afterwards even though it’s not due for release until May 18th in the US and May 21st in Europe.

When those dates hit, however, and you’re looking through the shelves of your favourite videogame retailer for Alan Wake, you’ll know exactly what to look out for, thanks to the thoughtfulness of the aforementioned companies in providing you an advance look at the game’s box art.

Halo: Reach Box Art SmallNew details on the upcoming Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta (which was dated earlier today) have been released in handy fact sheet form, accompanied by the claim that that it is on track to be “the largest beta program of its kind on any console,” and is expected to see “millions of participants when it begins May 3.”

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier WIP Box ArtEarlier in the week Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was in development for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The next entry into the Ghost Recon franchise will be available in fall 2010, with an exclusive multiplayer beta invitation available this summer if you buy Splinter Cell: Conviction when it releases on the Xbox 360 in the middle of April.

Now the publisher has revealed the work in progress box art for the game. The reveal comes via a Twitter update by Ubisoft’s Senior Community Developer Kimi Matsuzaki.

UFC Undisputed 2010 Box ArtTHQ recently announced that current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will adorn the cover of the publisher’s upcoming UFC Undisputed 2010.

The follow-up to 2009’s highly successful, 3.5 million unit selling UFC 2009: Undisputed, the 2010 edition will feature over 100 league fighters, commentary from ringside commentators Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg, a new sway and posture system to enhance defence and coups-de-grace attacks, as well as new moves from different fighting disciplines such as sambo, karate, and Greco-Roman.

Super Street Fighter IV PS3 Box ArtCapcom has revealed the box art for Super Street Fighter IV, the new and improved version of the excellently updated Street Fighter IV.

Super Street Fighter IV will include new characters, ultra combos, and online modes, as well as the return of the classic bonus stages and retuned offline and online gameplay.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, which includes the episodes Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape, is scheduled to hit shelves on the 3rd of March. Today Capcom revealed the box art for the game, along with a new trailer that explains the chronology of the episodes.

The Gold Edition of the game will include the original game plus additional content: two new episodes as well as all new playable characters for the Mercenaries Reunion and even new costumes. Gamers will be able to purchase the Gold Edition for $49.99 as a single Blu-ray disc for the PS3 while Xbox 360 players will be able to buy it as a DVD with a token for the downloadable content for the Xbox 360.

Heavy Rain US Box Art Sony has revealed the official Heavy Rain box art for North America, and it’s looking pretty sweet (larger version after the jump). For those gamers who prefer the European box art Sony will be making it available around launch for print.

The publisher also confirmed that the final ESRB rating for the psychological action thriller is a “strong M for Blood, Intense Violence, Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language and Use of Drugs.” However, Sony assured US gamers that they would be enjoying the same content as what’s being released in all of Sony’s territories.

In a recent post the PlayStation Blog has confirmed what the box art of Gran Turismo 5 will look like, adorned with the silky curves of the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. From the announcement, regarding the car:

Aliens VS Predator Box Art SmallWhoa, what’s this? Developers Rebellion and publishers SEGA want to give everybody a head start before we begin hunting for their game on the shelves at our local retailers, so they’ve been kind enough to release an image of the Aliens VS Predator box art.

2K Games has revealed the box art for their next entry into the Bioshock franchise, making sure you know what to look out for when the title releases on February 9th next year.

Bioshock 2 Box ArtBioshock 2 is set to continue the story of the underwater dystopian city of Rapture, set 10 years after the events of the original first-person action adventure title.

Playing as a Big Daddy this time (one of the misunderstood antagonists from the first game), you’ll need the extra muscle to go up against a new enemy, the Big Sister, and discover new mysteries lying at the bottom of the ocean.

Bioshock 2 will also include a variety of multiplayer modes, which everyone will probably need to adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach before judging whether or not such extended features are even necessary for a world as rich as that of the original Bioshock.

Bioware recently announced the existence of a Collector’s Edition for their upcoming space opera role-playing action adventure game, Mass Effect 2, and it looks pretty darn awesome.

Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition Box Art SmallThe special edition will be available alongside the regular version of Mass Effect 2 on January 26th in North America and January 29th in Europe, in limited quantities, no doubt. Co-founder of BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA, Dr. Ray Muzyka said of this special version:

“We’re really excited to roll out this Collectors’ Edition featuring so many unique items, including special Collectors’ Edition armor and weapons and content that will surprise Mass Effect fans. The limited edition comic book and bonus DVD will really enhance and expand the overall Mass Effect 2 experience.”

Army of Two: The 40th Day Xbox 360 Box ArtEA has released the box art for its upcoming action shooter, Army of Two: The 40th Day. Not surprisingly, Salem and Rios feature prominently on the cover of the game.

Army of Two: The 40th Day will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP early next year. The game will hit shelves across Europe on the 8th of January 2010 and a few days later in North America on the 12th of January.
