In the on-going saga that is the development of Splatterhouse, Namco have re-hired members of the original developer of the classic remake, Bottlerocket, in order to help finish work on the game.
Earlier this year, Bottlerocket was taken off of the Splatterhouse project by publishers Namco, apparently due to their belief that the game wasn’t hitting the development milestones it was supposed to, and, as a result, the quality of the title, as well as the release date, was slipping.
The Splatterhouse project was then moved away from Bottlerocket to an in-house studio at Namco, who developed Afro Samurai.
Now, according to a Variety report, ten to twenty developers from Bottlerocket are working at a new studio in San Diego to complete the game.
The future of developers Bottlerocket, however, is once again uncertain, despite their assurances that they are currently working on a brand new game, after Splatterhouse and a game based on the Flash, have been taken away from them.
