Do you remember as a kid how you used to make block towers just so that you could see them fall down, crashing to the ground? Boom Blox is just like a set of those wooden blocks, only in video game form. Every variant of game you can think of that could be played with wooden blocks (and a few more that couldn’t) is in Bash Party, making this a fun kit of games for a group of players.
The single player game consists of a bunch of rulesets, each with a bunch of levels to play. For example, one set of levels sees you given a bowling ball that you use to knock everything to the ground in the least number of throws. To throw the ball you point the Wii Remote at the point you want to throw at (rotating the stage if you wish to by holding B), pressing A to select the spot and flicking the Wii Remote as hard as you want the ball to be thrown. When you release A the ball goes flying towards the spot you chose and the realistic physics engine takes over from there. If you found the weak spot in the structure you have the pleasure of watching the entire thing fall apart in spectacular fashion.

EA has taken the wraps off two new worlds of BOOM BLOX Bash Party. Heroic and Show Time join the Space and Pirate worlds.
Heroic is inspired by the classic conflict between heroes and villains, taking players “from the rooftops of a cityscape with a lovable Super Pig hero to the lair of an evil mastermind monkey villain.” Get ready to “Rescue helpless characters from teetering towers of blox! Sling the Super Pig into towers of gleaming point blox! Bash your way through the incredible machines the evil bunny and his robot henchmen have built in their underwater lair!”
Here’s a trailer for the absolutely massive looking Boom Blox: Bash Party for the Wii, the sequel to last year’s Boom Blox from EA, with levels that take place all over the show, from under the sea, over the oceans and in outer space.

Today EA announced Boom Blox Bash Party for the Wii, a sequel to last year’s popular Boom Blox. EA will again be collaborating with Steven Spielberg for the new game, which promises richer multiplayer action and over 400 new levels with puzzles underwater and in space.
Boom Blox Bash Party will not only include twice as many multiplayer challenges as the original but team-based challenges too. The game will also include new blox types (including virus and conveyor blox), new blox shapes (for example, cylinders and wedges), and new tools.
In addition to throwing and grabbing, players will be able to sling, launch and blow the competition away with new cannon, paint ball and slingshot tools. You can also look forward to new blox characters. No longer content to watch from the sidelines, these blox characters are now blox themselves which players can throw, stack or launch.
