EA and the folks at developer Black Box have made two exciting announcements today regarding the pair’s massively multiplayer online (action) racing game, Need For Speed World.
One of the announcements involves a very big number, while the other announcement doesn’t involve any numbers at all!
My, what a farcical riddle!
You know, for some reason or other, I haven’t been ‘feeling’ Skate 3 in the midst of the run-up to the skating sim’s release this week.
The screenshots and trailers that EA and developer Black Box have put out in the last few months have been impressive, for sure, and I thoroughly enjoyed Skate 2, but for reasons unbeknownst to me, Skate 3 seemed like a miasma I could simply let blow over.
This new trailer for Skate 3, however, has finally switched something on, and all of a sudden I’m looking forward to the title. As a launch trailer, it doesn’t do anything spectacular, but it does effectively show off what’s great about skating in a videogame, and what’s great about Skate 3 in particular – multiplayer skating:
Major Nelson has let everyone know that the promised demo for EA and Black Box’s skateboarding game, Skate 3, is now up and available on Xbox LIVE, but as is usually the case, only Xbox LIVE Gold members are currently able to gain access to this first slice of the title.
From the official description:
After the release date for the Skate 3 demo was recently announced, EA and developers Black Box have been kind enough to tell us what we’ll be getting up to in the first sneak peek of the skating simulator.
From the official release:
During PAX East over the weekend, EA was handing out stickers announcing that a demo for its upcoming skating sim, Skate 3, will be arriving in the middle of next month on both Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network, well ahead of the game’s release on May 11th in the US and May 14th in the UK.
When does the demo for Skate 3 drop?
EA and Black Box have announced that their skating simulation game, SKATE 3, will be hitting shelves across the UK on the 14th of May. The game will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
EA and developers Black Box have released four new screenshots for their upcoming skating simulation game, Skate 3, as well as a new producer universe documentary, giving you the chance to meet the artists behind the new University district in Port Caverton.
The release of EA’s third skating simulation game, Skate 3, is a mere few months away, and this time will add a new cooperative multiplayer element to try and spice up the formula.
To start getting Skate 3 on your radar, EA and developers Black Box have released a new batch of screenshots from the title, as well as two documentaries detailing one of the features of Skate 3, namely that of building your own company within the world of the game.
You can also watch an interview with the colourful character Del tha Funkee Homosapien, who talks about his musical contributions to Skate 3.
The videos showcase some pretty impressive in-game footage, all of which you can watch a little further down the page:
