Beyond Good & Evil HD is one of those games that will invoke nostalgia in you, the kind of nostalgia that will remind you of your younger videogaming days. The days when a group of mates crowded around a 54cm CRT TV with wired controllers and the hum of the PS2 in the background, good ol’ days that remind you of how far videogaming has come in the past decade.

Ubisoft has announced that Beyond Good & Evil HD will be coming to the PlayStation Network next week.
Beyond Good & Evil was originally released on the PS2, GameCube, Xbox and PC back in 2003, and soon became a cult-like classic. It’s a story-based adventure game that’s based on a distant mining planet called Hyllis in 2435. It revolves around Jade, a photojournalist and martial artist, who is working alongside a resistance agency to expose a government conspiracy.
Ubisoft has stamped a release date on Beyond Good & Evil HD, the HD re-release of the cult-like PS2 classic.

The original Beyond Good & Evil released on PlayStation 2, Gamecube, Xbox and PC way back in 2003 and was directed by esteemed game designer Michel Ancel (Rayman), but here in 2011 we get to embark on Jade’s adventure all over again, only this time with sharper visuals!

Microsoft has this week been kind enough to detail the contents of this year’s Xbox LIVE Arcade ‘House Party’ event, which will see the release of five new Xbox LIVE Arcade games including Bejeweled Blitz Live, Full House Poker and… Beyond Good and Evil HD.
One of the highlights to come out of Ubisoft’s Digital Day was that the cult-like PS2 classic Beyond Good & Evil would be re-released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade in HD.
Beyond Good & Evil HD will feature higher resolution textures and a smoother frame rate, rendering at a 1080p HD resolution, as well as online leaderboards, trophies and achievements of course. It will also include enhanced character models and a remastered musical score.
