EL33TONLINE: News tag archive: beta
Yesterday we gave everyone another chance to snag a code for the Gotham City Impostors beta over Xbox LIVE to help you get into the game ahead of its release next week, and so El33tonline welcomes the latest additions to the Team Bats and Team Jokerz gangs!
Gotham City Impostors is pretty dang fun, you guys. Just the tutorial mission is a blast to play as you’re taught the ins and outs of using a gliding device to float about the place (and slam down into enemies), a rapid-use grapple hook (to instantly zip up walls) and roller skates (to leap over ramps). And what about those jumping springs?!
Can you even imagine the thrill of chasing down a rival Gotham City Impostor gang member using these tricks of the trade? Well imagine no more, because El33tonline is giving away another beta code for Xbox 360 so you can experience that thrill ride for yourself!
Yesterday we ran a day-long competition to give three of our readers a chance to win a beta code for Gotham City Impostors, the next awesome game from Monolith (Shogo, No One Lives Forever, FEAR).
The winners were chosen across entries over Twitter, Facebook and comments on the site, but the question is, who won the codes?
Did you know that the public multiplayer beta test for Gotham City Impostors is now live on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3? You didn’t?
The beta for Monolith’s zany-looking team-based first-person shooter kicked off late last week giving Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network denizens the chance to experiment with tons of different weapon combinations across the provided maps, with character customisation options included to tailor-create your own in-game persona.
You’ve heard about Monolith’s upcoming team-based first-person shooter, haven’t you? You know, the one where you choose to play on the side of Team Bats or Team Jokerz and dart around sections of Gotham City wreaking havoc with all kinds of destructive weapons and gadgets?
The game that allows you to customise your character to your heart’s content with a massive range of accessories and gear inspired by The Batman and The Joker?
Yes, that team-based first-person shooter! The downloadable Gotham City Impostors!
This week’s PlayStation Store update has a number of highlights to satisfy a diverse range of PSN users.
PS Plus subscribers can enjoy early access to the Starhawk Beta as well as 50% off twelve recent PSN titles such as Rochard and Payday: The Heist.
At this point, it might just be better for Ubisoft to say the game is “done when it’s done.”
After suffering numerous delays out of 2010 and into 2011, and then being forced back into 2012, Ubisoft has recently announced another delay for its tactical squad-based shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has today announced that the release of Gotham City Impostors has been delayed, or “moved,” to February.
Have you heard about the insane six-versus-six multiplayer fun of Gotham City Impostors from Monolith and Warner Bros. Interactive?
If not, then Lisa’s excellent hands-on preview of the customisation-crazy first-person shooter will clue you in quick-smart, but if you would like a chance to get to play the game before it’s released early next year, then you should definitely sign up for the upcoming console beta!
How do we know about this beta? Thanks to a recently released and awesomely hilarious gameplay and feature trailer, which you can also watch below:
There was a lot of grumbling about the recently-concluded Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta as players the world over got to go hands-on with an early slice of the game’s competitive online component, some of whom didn’t think much of what they saw due to a myriad of issues.
This week’s European PlayStation Store content publish is almost upon us and we’re taking a sneak peek at all of the brand new and upcoming digital delights we can expect to appear online in the next couple hours.
One of the highlights of the new content is no doubt a demo for Need for Speed: The Run, as well as a new taster for Sonic Generations, while an interesting action game by the name of Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Edition is also scheduled to hit the store today.
Tons of downloadable content will become available, too, for games like Gran Turismo 5 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, while the regular collection of themes, videos and Rock Band songs will show up as well.

DICE has revealed that over eight million gamers jumped into the recently-concluded Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta and has offered a few additional statistics to put this number, and the numbers behind gameplay, into perspective.
How many shots were fired in the beta? How many kills were registered during the taster? What other stats has DICE delivered? Find them below:
With the release of a new batch of Battlefield 3 screenshots showing off more of the solo campaign from DICE’s military-themed shooter (get those below), the developer also released a ‘Top Ten’ list of issues that it has recognised with the currently-on-the-go Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta – a testing phase that seems to be taking some flak from participants.
Not only does the company list these issues, it also addresses how or if the team intends to fix them. Do you have any major issues with the way the Battlefield 3 beta works? Read on to see if your problems are going to be addressed:
We’re all keenly aware that Battlefield 3 is going to be massive, with pre-order numbers for EA and DICE’s military shooter going through the roof as well as an insane amount of buzz rumbling around on the internet, and at this year’s gauntlet of game shows.
The fact that the online beta test for Battlefield 3 is said to be six times larger than a similar testing period for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 only confirms our beliefs that the launch of the upcoming action title is going to be unbelievably gigantic.
DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson recently posted on the official Battlefield blog to talk more about the game’s magnitude:
This week’s European PlayStation store update is simply massive, with a stack of new downloadable titles to purchase as well as the usual plethora of add-on content for your favourite games.
Highlights this week include the Battlefield 3 Beta which went live just a couple of hours ago. This 1173 MB download should be well worth it as you take on the rest of the world in the Paris-based ‘Operation Metro’ map. This open beta ends on October 10th.
