What Xbox LIVE Arcade game do you most want to see on South Africa’s Xbox LIVE Marketplace?
The nominees for the videogame segment of this year’s BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards have been announced in a mighty list of categories spanning ‘Action,’ ‘Artistic Achievement,’ ‘Debut Game’ and many, many more.
Included in the lists are mainstay award winners such as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, LA Noire, Bastion, Battlefield 3 and others, but the question is, which game are you rooting for?
This ultra-prestigious award ceremony will take place on March 16th, with a live-stream happening on the BAFTA games website, but for now, here is the full, massive list of nominees for 2012’s BAFTA Game Awards:
You may not believe it, but the annual Spike Video Game Awards isn’t actually all about revealing exciting new games, nor is it centred on providing looks at upcoming titles.
No, the Spike Video Game Awards are about awards! Well, mostly anyway.
One of the shoo-in contenders for best downloadable game of 2011 (and overall game of the year nominee, according to El33tonline’s readers) has just gone and swept up a few nods at the recently-concluded Inside Gaming Awards, hosted by game video site Machinima.com.
Bastion developer Supergiant Games posted on Twitter:
Bastion is an action role-playing game for Xbox LIVE Arcade, developed by independent studio Supergiant Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment… and is one of the best Arcade games you’ll play this year.
The story begins as you wake up in a broken world, and as ‘The Kid,’ you’ll need to travel through three different areas (Remainders of the City, the Wild Unknown, and finally the Ura Homeland) to find out why your home has become so devastated, and how you can fix it.

PC gamers will have a chance to experience the endearing world of Bastion for themselves when the game releases on Steam next Tuesday. This version of the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade favourite will cost $15 and features all the functionality you’d expect from Steam - cloud saves, leaderboards and achievements.
There’s hardly a single change in the list of Top Twenty most played games over Xbox LIVE compared to the week previous, with only a bit of shuffling going on in the last five entries as Mortal Kombat is relegated to the bottom of the chart.
What about the top of the chart, you ask? Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are still bullying Halo: Reach, FIFA 11 and Grand Theft Auto IV, so it’s simply business as usual.
There has been a shake-up in the list of best-selling Xbox LIVE Arcade titles with the release of From Dust last week, as well as a few minor changes in the list of top-selling Xbox LIVE Indie games and the activity chart for Games For Windows LIVE.
But not much.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is as dominant as ever on the latest Xbox LIVE Activity chart, appearing at the top of the listing to remain the number one most played game on Xbox LIVE.
The rivalry between Black Ops and older sibling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 makes for a good fight, but Infinity Ward’s title has to settle for second place on the chart ahead of Halo: Reach, FIFA 11 and GTA IV.
As for the top-selling Xbox LIVE Arcade game, that’s another easy answer: Bastion is solidly number one on this listing following its release last week, ahead of Warhammer 40: Kill Team and Deadliest Warrior: Legends.

The Summer of Arcade 2011 kicks off today with the release of Bastion on Xbox LIVE Arcade. The release schedule for the games included in this year’s promotion include From Dust, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Toy Soldiers: Cold War and Crimson Alliance.
