Atlus has announced Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 for the PS2. This new chapter in the Persona series is scheduled to be released across North America on the 9th of December for $39.99. Every copy of the game will include a soundtrack CD.
Persona 4 sees an urban youth’s year long stay in Inaba, situated in the Japanese countryside, changed by a murder which leads to a series of crimes. The youth discovers that he and his friends have the power to solve the case and restore peace.
Atlus has revealed that card-based strategy RPG Yggdra Union is headed to the PSP. The game is scheduled to be released on the 16th of September.
Originally released for the Game Boy Advance, Yggdra Union combines turn-based strategy, real-time action and tactical card-based combat. The game has been remade and features enhancements exclusive to the PSP including fully remastered audio and visuals and dual language voiceovers (Japanese and English). The game also includes a widescreen aspect ratio, additional difficulty settings, new playable characters and missions as well as new unlockable content.
Yggdra Union is set in Fantasinia, a land which is ruled by a royal family believed to be descended from the gods. The peace of the land is shattered when the forces of the Empire of Bronquia invade. Led by Emperor Gulcasa, Bronquia’s Imperial Army leaves a bloody path through the land. Princess Yggdra Yuril Artwaltz, the sole survivor of the royal family, escapes with the holy sword Gran Centurio and meets up with a thief named Milanor who is destined to help her free the kingdom.
The game sees players building a deck of cards to deliver special attacks while keeping an eye on their aggression meter to adjust the power of the hits and creating troop unions to defeat the enemy. No game is ever the same because of three different endings as well as a hidden ending and secret characters.
Atlus has taken the wraps off Zoids Assault, a “gritty militaristic strategy RPG featuring enormous beasts of steel.” Developed by Tomy, the title will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 on the 26th of August.
Two nations, Maroll and Jamil, find themselves in a cold war following a large global conflict. Despite controlling giant biomechanical life forms through a campaign of military conflicts, players must use advanced military tactics since their enemies outnumber them.
The game features objective based game play as well as advanced upgrade and customization options. Players will be able to upgrade their units with melee weapons, rockets, rifles, machine guns, cannons and more.

Atlus’ current line-up for 2008 also includes Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3.
Game Watch have posted a whole bunch of new screenshots which were released at Nintendo conference today in Japan.
Included among them is some shots of Kirby Superstar DS, which may or may not be a straight remake of the SNES game. Also particularly exciting are shots of the newly announced Fire Emblem DS which looks to be a remake of an early Fire Emblem game from the NES/SNES era. Square Enix’s games are looking beautiful as always (except for the DS Kingdom Hearts with the odd name). Anyhow, this is one amazing batch of games - check them out if you love gaming.
Why do I single out Kirby you may ask? Kirby is awesome, that’s why.
