I’ve heard a couple of people remark that Asura would make a great addition to the Street Fighter roster due to his distinctive character design and hyperbolic aggression. While Capcom hasn’t announced anything at this stage, a new trailer for Asura’s Wrath detailing upcoming DLC for the game reveals that you’ll soon be able to square off against two characters from Street Fighter IV.
The entries for our Asura’s Wrath competition were really awesome - thanks to everyone for entering and letting us know where you thought Asura’s daughter Mithra was.
Just one thing remains to be seen: did Asura deem you worthy of winning a copy of his game?
Asura’s Wrath is one of the most unique games I have ever played. While I’ll be the first to admit that at first I didn’t know just what to make of it, it soon drew me in so entirely that the ‘just one more level’ mantra began to sink into my behaviour patterns. One thing is clear from the start, Capcom had a big vision with this game, and translated it very well in the end product.

Japanese gamers were treated to a flurry of new titles during the past week and seven of these sold well enough to make it into the latest Media Create chart. Five out of the new entries are published by Namco Bandai so this gives you a good idea of the kind of clout the company carries in its home territory.
Thanks to Famitsu we have learnt that we can look forward to a demo for Dragon’s Dogma. Next up in the Capcom news from Famitsu is that the first wave of downloadable content for Asura’s Wrath will be coming out in March.
This week marked a very important and exciting time in the videogame industry with the release of Sony’s PS Vita, the company’s latest and greatest gaming handheld!
The console’s release was celebrated here in South Africa with a lavish launch event and El33tonline was there to soak in the vibes - read Lisa and Wayne’s fantastic reports on the PS Vita launch to get an idea of the evening’s experience with photos and videos, and also don’t miss our highly extensive previous coverage of the handheld, bolstered by Tom’s excellent efforts over the last few weeks and months.
The release of the PS Vita means that no less than three (well, four) of El33tonline’s members will be getting to know the device a lot better this weekend, but you can find out what else we’ll be getting up to over the next two days below:
Asura’s Wrath is definitely one of those games that you have to ‘experience for yourself,’ so El33tonline has teamed up with Capcom and Ster Kinekor to give away a copy of this outrageous, well over-the-top action game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3!
Asura’s Wrath is available now and you have a chance to win the game by getting yourself to El33tonline’s Asura’s Wrath Competition Page and spinning us a yarn - let your creative juices flow like Asura’s rage!
The outrageous, space-spanning action of Asura’s Wrath has been unleashed in North America and will crack European territories this Friday, February 24th, so it’s best to make any and all preparations you can before you’re consumed by the demi-god’s rage.
What about the UK and South Africa? Well, we’ll have to wait until March 9th to be subjected to Asura’s all-encompassing Wrath, but that’s OK - it just gives us more time to get ready for the insanity to come!
Industry site MCV is reporting that Capcom’s over-the-top action brawling game Asura’s Wrath has been delayed by two weeks.
Asura’s Wrath is a game unlike any other I have played. In this time of sequels upon sequels upon clones of sequels, that sure is saying something. But will this originality mean success or failure in a world where the familiar often wins out over the new?
Asura is angry. The gods killed his wife, kidnapped his daughter and assassinated the emperor. Asura is banished from Earth and then awakened from a 12 millennia hibernation. And now it is time for payback.

“Psst, hey you. You wanna’ try out a couple new games? You can’t get these games in the store, these games come from the future! There’s no way you can get them other than through me.
What’s my name? You can just call me… Xbox LIVE.”
This week’s US PlayStation Store update is chockablock with demos for a variety of high profile titles, and also serves up plenty of great deals on a wide range of compelling software.
PlayStation Plus members receive the biggest savings on a slew of EA titles released in 2011, with up to 30% off games like Crysis ($10.49) and Burnout Crash! ($4.89). PS Plus subscribers also have the luxury of downloading the latest episode of Qore for free. This month’s episode features a behind-the-scenes scoop on Twisted Metal and takes a closer look at Sony’s upcoming portable marvel - the PS Vita.
The demo for Capcom’s spectacular action game Asura’s Wrath was added to the Japanese PlayStation Store a couple of hours ago. The sample is 719MB and includes two chapters to play through. The levels will be familiar to anyone who got hands-on time with the game at the Tokyo Game Show, although the demo does feature a few additional scenes.
Last week we reported that a demo for Final Fantasy XIII-2 would be released on the US PlayStation Store this Tuesday.
We can always rely on Capcom to bring a taste of Japan with it to E3, and this year was no different.
Over the course of E3 2011, the publisher demonstrated a range of games due for release both this year and next, and four of those titles caught our attention and throttled it enough for us to investigate further:
