Persona 4 may be a PlayStation 2 title but its excellent 2D character art by Shigenori Soejima has definitely stood the test of time. Thankfully we’ll be able to experience Persona 4’s likeable cast in a whole new light when Persona 4 Arena releases for Xbox 360 and PS3 this August in North America.
The first part of Xbox LIVE Arcade’s five-week ‘House Party’ kicks off today with Konami and Arc System Works’ Hard Corps: Uprising, a beautiful-looking 2D action shooter set in the Contra universe… with overtones of Gunstar Heroes, for those of you who might remember that classic title.
Official details, an amazing launch trailer and a batch of fantastic screenshots from Hard Corps: Uprising lie in wait for you below:
From the creators of the Guilty Gear series, Arc System Works, comes a new 2D fighter called Battle Fantasia, containing a “unique cast of fantasy-inspired characters, alongside a storyline and script that stays true to its Japanese heritage and manga roots.” One of the characters is a bunny wizard.
One of the features of the game is its RPG-like system. Not only will you be able to choose from 12 characters depending on which you enjoy playing most, you’ll have to think about their size as well. Smaller characters have less health, but are fast on their feet. Bigger characters, however, are slow to move but have more hit-points than the smaller variety of fighters. There will also be a story mode of sorts, to unlock new costumes and artwork, while the ubiquitous online and head-to-head multiplayer modes will be available.
Battle Fantasia is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 early next year.
