Not long to go now until we can return to Wonderland, well the crazy, twisted world of American McGee’s vision of Wonderland anyway.
A batch of new screenshots for Alice: Madness Returns have been unleashed upon the world, and they’re a little disturbing in nature to be honest.
Then again we don’t really expect anything less than disturbing from EA and Spicy Horses upcoming game, it does after all allow us to re-enter into the crazy, twisted world of American McGee’s vision of Wonderland.
Just last week we brought you a batch of new screenshots from EA’s upcoming Alice: Madness Returns, showcasing one of Alice’s new combat abilities, Hysteria.
Today EA has revealed a little bit more information about this new ability, helping to shed some more light on what has been described as one of Alice’s “more chaotic combat abilities.”
Last week we were treated to some new screenshots from EA’s upcoming Alice: Madness Returns, this time showcasing one of Alice’s more chaotic combat abilities, Hysteria.
Today you can get a glimpse into the game’s combat mechanics with this gameplay trailer.
Alice is a lot tougher than she initially looks. Watch below to see almost two minutes of action-packed gameplay footage as she takes on multiple enemies, and what looks to be a boss battle, with her new weapons which just so happen to be the head of a hobby horse, a deadly pepper grinder and a large, intricately detailed knife.
Intrigued? You should be.
EA has released a batch of new screenshots for Alice: Madness Returns, their upcoming action adventure game set in the twisted world of American McGee’s version of Wonderland.
According to a recent chat with CVG, American McGee has revealed that the upcoming Alice: Madness Returns for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC will include a code to download the original action adventure game, American McGee’s Alice, with additional downloadable content making the list of promises.
Said American McGee:
“There will be DLC in the form of dresses that the player can download and Alice can wear. Those dresses come with special abilities and enhance how you play through the game.”
In the twisted world of American McGee’s version of Wonderland, filled with peculiar sights, gnarled gothic architecture and outlandish looking creatures, what kinds of weapons does Alice use to protect herself in this wild place of insanity?
The head of a hobby horse, naturally. Also, a deadly pepper grinder and a large, intricately detailed knife. What else would Alice use? A machine gun?!
Not in this world.
You can continue on down below to see the rest of Alice’s arsenal of weapons in these latest screenshots for Alice: Madness Returns, an epic action adventure game that looks set to send us to the loony bin when we finally get to play it:
We all surely knew that Alice: Madness Returns from American McGee, Spicy Horse and EA was going to be something of a warped adventure filled with strange and creative new worlds, scenarios and characters… but this latest trailer for the action adventure game is wonderfully insane revealing a dream-like universe that defies description.
Let your brain try to piece this impossible puzzle together while witnessing the peculiar sights on offer:
EA recently went and announced a set of North American release dates for two of its publishing partner games, namely Alice: Madness Returns from American McGee and Spicy Horse, as well as Shadows of the Damned from Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51) and Grasshopper – both games are scheduled for June!
American McGee and production house Spicy Horse is currently hard at work on a follow-up to the PC classic ‘American McGee’s Alice’ in the form of Alice: Madness Returns, and from the previously released screenshots and in-game trailer, it’s looking suitably bizarre.
In case you’re still recovering from yesterday’s new teaser trailer for Alice: Madness Returns, you’d better sit down before you inspect these new screenshots of the game, hot from the Tokyo Game Show.
EA has released a new teaser trailer for Alice: Madness Returns for us to marvel…and puzzle over.
EA and developer Spicy Horse have today unveiled the continued adventures in American McGee’s vision of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland fairytale, showcasing the new game, Alice: Madness Returns, in a series of incredible screenshots and concept art, while teasing us with a creepy trailer and further details.
Alongside the release of an “innovative” puzzle game called Voodoo Dice on Xbox LIVE Arcade tomorrow, we’ll also see the launch of id Software’s classic DOOM II on the service (yes, just like that - all caps and Roman numerals).
While Voodoo Dice has been priced at 800 MS Points, no price has yet been set for DOOM II, but if the release of the original game on XBLA, DOOM, is anything to go by, DOOM II may also be 800 MS Points (although DOOM is currently sitting at 400 MS Points after a price reduction).
Let’s all pretend we’ve been transported way, way back to the days of DOOM II’s original release in 1994, and see what the developers (including John Romero and American McGee) have to say about the game’s ‘imminent’ release:
Whoa, when did this happen? At some stage, EA has set up a teaser site
for the upcoming American McGee’s Return of Alice, a new game by the creator of the original American McGee’s Alice in collaboration with EA.
The teaser site contains a teaser trailer for the game, and the promise of loads more content in the months to come with rows of books in the static scene on show.
The end of the trailer throws up a date of ‘2011,’ which is when we can expect to get our hands on what everybody will surely hope to be not only a game as creative as the original, but a return to form for American McGee.
