THQ has revealed that it is currently developing “the first ever cheerleading video game.” All Star Cheer Squad will be released for the Wii and NDS this fall. Developed by Florida-based Gorilla in Tampa, the game will be THQ’s first original property created specifically for girls on the Wii and NDS.
Cheerleading Choreographer Tony G (of Bring It On fame) has signed on as the chief consultant for the game. All Star Cheer Squad will see players immersed in competitive cheerleading as they follow a year in the life of a cheerleader, learning new cheers, creating and practicing new routines and trying to land the captain’s pom-pom.
Get ready to enter squad competitions and one-on-one cheer-offs, using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to perform cheer and dance moves of course. The game will also incorporate use of the Wii Balance Board. Players will be able to customize their cheerleader and squad, including body, facial features, hair and outfits. The Nintendo DS version will feature a unique storyline that will focus on cheerleading camp.
