Remedy Entertainment has today formally announced a release date for the PC version of the developer’s Alan Wake, following an announcement in late 2011 that PC gamers could expect the outstanding psychological action thriller to release on their platform of choice, soon.
On the back of a full reveal of a new downloadable Alan Wake adventure in the form of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, Remedy Entertainment has today announced that the studio’s original Xbox 360 action thriller will be making its way to the PC early next year.
Come December 10th, we’ll all know what the next big game from BioWare is, but other than a released screenshot, the below-appearing teaser trailer for the studio’s unnannounced title is all we have to go on.
Just whatever you do, don’t blink while watching the video or you’ll miss the tanks, explosions and urban setting:
If you’ve got 16 seconds to spare, then you’ve got enough time to watch the first ever piece of footage from the next Alan Wake game, with a (very) short teaser trailer… for the full trailer due to be unveiled at this year’s Spike Video Game Awards on December 10th.
We realise that we’re part of the problem, encouraging teasers and snippets of trailers ahead of full announcements like this, but… it’s Alan Wake!
Watch below:
While the full reveal for the next Alan Wake game from Remedy Entertainment will take place on December 10th during this year’s edition of the Spike Video Game Awards, Game Informer has gone live with the very first screenshot from the game to tease us into oblivion:
Industry consumer magazine (and site) Game Informer has gone live with the first (supposed) screenshot of BioWare’s next game, which is currently a complete mystery.
If you’re like me, you’ve chomping for any and all news related to the next game set in the Alan Wake franchise, and in mid-December, we’re finally going to be able to see what Remedy has been working on since the original game’s release last year.
As is often the case with high profile franchises of any description, there’s always bound to be hype and speculation around the next instalment of that franchise, and Alan Wake is no different.
Adding fuel to the smoky rumour fire, the term ‘Alan Wake 2’ appeared on an artist’s CV recently, which many thought confirmed that a sequel to 2010’s action thriller was in the works.
Not so, says Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment. Or, not quite so. Or rather… it’s complicated. Let Remedy’s Oskari Hakkinen try to clear things up:
Tons of fantastic titles were released this year, so the task of choosing the very best of the best was extremely difficult! How do you squeeze over thirty amazing games into the space of just ten slots? Impossible, but as is tradition, necessary.
So to compile a final Top Ten list of the ultimate games of 2010, we called on El33tonline’s readers to vote for your favourite title, and thanks to your input, we’ve finally got that list!
We’ve tallied the votes, so without further ado, here are El33tonline’s Game of the Year winners, as voted on by you:
Good news from Major Nelson today has revealed that a brand new Xbox 360 bundle (yes, a new one!) will be making its way to stores over the next few weeks!
Better news is that the bundle will include two of the console’s best games to get you started on your gaming path!
After five years and a few months, the story of Alan Wake has finally been allowed to be told through the full original game and two downloadable content (DLC) episodes, the second of which released just a little earlier today.
Early next week, on October 12th, the second and final piece of downloadable content for Remedy’s excellent Alan Wake will become available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for a piffling 560 MS Points, and will wrap up the action thriller’s current story arc.
If you’re a fan of Alan Wake, you’d do well to pick up this last episode of the game to discover additional clues to unravel the mysterious adventures of ‘The Writer’ and find closure in the narrative… and no doubt be teased with unanswered questions.
El33tonline thought Alan Wake was an exceptional game, and you can read our review over here. You can also see the rest of the newly release, hauntingly intriguing screenshots for ‘The Writer’ below:
We’ve finally got a release date for the second piece of Alan Wake downloadable content (DLC), and it’s coming sooner than you (READ: I) would think, at a price lower than you (READ: I) would have expected.
Were you looking forward to more downloadable content (DLC) for the excellent action thriller, Alan Wake, beyond the second piece of DLC? Did you want to embark upon further extended adventures and uncoil the gnarled mystery of Cauldron Lake?
Unfortunate.
The Signal, the first piece of downloadable content (DLC) for Remedy’s excellent Alan Wake action horror game, is now available to download, free to those who bought an original copy of the game (by using the included redemption code).
If you got Alan Wake second-hand, however, you’ll unfortunately need to pay for the DLC with 560 of your precious MS Points. Word is, though, that if you’re a fan of what you played in the full game of Alan Wake, The Signal won’t disappoint.
What can you find in this story expansion?
