The Academy of Arts and Sciences recently announced its full list of nominations for this year’s Interactive Achievement Awards, with categories including ‘Game of the Year,’ ‘Outstanding Achievement in Story,’ ‘Downloadable Game of the Year’ and many more.
Unsurprisingly, Uncharted 3 and Naughty Dog lead the nominations list with a total of twelve nods across the categories, followed by Portal 2 with ten and LA Noire with nine.
The 15th annual Interactive Achievement Awards will be held during the DICE Summit this year in Las Vegas, on February 9th, and here are the hopefuls:
The winners of the 14th annual Interactive Achievement Awards were announced at a ceremony last night, after an extensive list of nominees was announced in late January by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS).
As has become the trend at award ceremonies for games released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption cleaned up and took no less than five awards in categories such as ‘Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction’ and ‘Outstanding Character Performance,’ while Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2 and Limbo also received multiple awards.
But which title won ‘Game of the Year’?

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) has announced an extensive list of nominees for this year’s Interactive Achievement Awards - an extremely prestigious awards event that will take place during the DICE summit on February 10th - to recognise outstanding achievements in the realm of videogame development.
Naturally, Red Dead Redemption dominates the nominees list in the 24 announced categories, while games like Mass Effect 2, God of War III, Enslaved, Alan Wake and Angry Birds all get nods, too.
AIAS president Martin Rae said of the event this year:
The winners of the 13th annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAA), organised by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), were announced last night, recognising outstanding achievements in the videogame industry.
The overall ‘Game of the Year’ award (as well as quite a few other awards) went to Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum picked up a few nods and Brütal Legend received a couple honours, while David Crane, Mark Cerny and Doug Lowenstein were all awarded industry achievement awards.
