Even though Mafia II may have been delayed into the year by some months, it makes no difference to the team at 2K as they’ve just released another great, classy trailer for the mobster-themed period game, as Tommy guns rattle off rounds, explosions abound, car chases ensue and intense dialogue is uttered, all set to the classic song “Boom Boom” by John Lee Hooker.
Makes for a… ‘cultured’ experience. Watch below:
Gearbox Software has announced that the third DLC for Borderlands, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, will be available for the Xbox 360 on the 23rd of February (that’s today!) and on the 25th of February for the PS3 and PC.
2K Games has just announced and detailed an “aggressive post-launch downloadable content plan for BioShock2” in which the publisher intends to extend both the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the game by “adding more glimpses into the award-winning world of Rapture.”
Let the time-twisting adventures of P.B. Winterbottom and his never-ending quest for pie commence! A 2D platforming adventure game, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom has finally arrived on Xbox LIVE Arcade, bringing with it over 75 brain-teasingly unique puzzles as you push the laws of time to the limit.
From the official, whimsical description:
It’s been revealed that there will be 10 new achievements for the upcoming third DLC for Borderlands, The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx. These new achievements will give all you gamerscore-hungry gamers out there the opportunity to earn 250 additional gamerscore.
A brilliant looking time-twisting puzzle platformer by the name of The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom will be arriving on Xbox LIVE Arcade on February 17th, courtesy 2K Games’ Play label and indie developers The Odd Gentlemen, and after watching the launch trailer for the game below, you may just think that that date can’t come soon enough.
Earlier in the month Gearbox Software announced that a character from the upcoming third add-on pack (titled The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx) for Borderlands would have a Twitter account and would dispense information from it.
Well it seems as if the character has been revealed and it appears to be none other than General Knoxx himself!
Earlier in the week Gearbox Software revealed that a character from the upcoming third add-on pack for Borderlands (titled The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx) would have a Twitter account and would dispense information from it.
Gearbox Software has given us the heads-up that a new update for the PC version of Borderlands is now available.
Update 1.21 improves multiplayer connectivity so that “users should no longer be required to forward ports to host or join multiplayer games.” The 3D vision crosshair has also been improved and good news if you were one of those players who experienced distorted shadows or graphical glitches after update 1.0.1, you shouldn’t have these issues anymore.
Last week Gearbox Software confirmed that it was working on a third add-on pack for Borderlands, its popular role playing shooter.
The new expansion is called The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx and according to the developer will be the biggest round of DLC yet. So far we know that the new DLC will be aimed at players around 34 to 50 and that it will raise the level cap above 50 and introduce new weapons and enemies in a huge new environment. It will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year, although a specific release date and pricing have not yet been announced.
2K Games and Gearbox Software have already released two add-on packs for their popular role playing shooter Borderlands (The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot) with another one (The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx) in the pipeline.

Now gamers will have the chance to buy the first two add-on packs on a double disc titled the Borderlands Add-On Pack. According to retailer GameStop the double DLC disc will be available on the 23rd of February for $19.99 for the Xbox 360 and PC. Currently there is no listing for a PS3 version of the add-on pack.
One week ago Gearbox Software revealed that it was working on a third add-on pack for its popular role playing shooter Borderlands. The developer assured us that the next round of DLC would be the biggest yet and would contain a level cap increase.
Now Gearbox has announced that the new expansion will be called The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx and will not only raise the level cap above 50 but introduce new weapons and enemies too in a “huge new environment.” We don’t know exactly when the new DLC will be available yet (other than this year) or how much it will cost, but we do know that the new quests will be aimed at players around level 34 to 50 and that it will be arriving on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Irrational Games, a studio of trail blazing developers known for titles such as System Shock 2, Freedom Force and Bioshock, will soon reclaim that name after they were (somewhat confusingly) renamed 2K Boston during the development of Bioshock, and the company’s subsequent acquisition by 2K Games/Take-Two Interactive.
2K Games has revealed the box art for their next entry into the Bioshock franchise, making sure you know what to look out for when the title releases on February 9th next year.
Bioshock 2 is set to continue the story of the underwater dystopian city of Rapture, set 10 years after the events of the original first-person action adventure title.
Playing as a Big Daddy this time (one of the misunderstood antagonists from the first game), you’ll need the extra muscle to go up against a new enemy, the Big Sister, and discover new mysteries lying at the bottom of the ocean.
Bioshock 2 will also include a variety of multiplayer modes, which everyone will probably need to adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach before judging whether or not such extended features are even necessary for a world as rich as that of the original Bioshock.
Be sure to browse through El33tonline’s previous coverage of Bioshock 2, and wipe your eyeballs over a larger image of the newly released box art below:
Just can’t get enough of Borderlands? Feel kind of sad when you have to step away from the game to go about your normal lives? Then rest easy knowing you can get the Borderlands soundtrack to play through your iPod while out playing paintball. Now the excitement does not have to end when you switch off your console. I wonder if it comes with Bloodwing or if that is an optional extra?
