Despite several top industry figures (and a lot of journalists) revealing their displeasure for E3 this year, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is still soldiering on, planning next year’s E3 Media and Business Summit.

An ESA representative said, “As we do every year, we’re beginning the process of surveying exhibitors and attendees to determine potential changes to the Summit. Once this is completed and shared with the ESA’s Board of Directors, we will make an announcement about the specifics of the 2009 E3 Media & Business Summit.”

While this isn’t really that surprising, it does go against the informal bets being made by the enthusiast press, declaring 2008 to be the last E3 ever. It all depends on those exhibitor and attendee surveys, then.

SCEA has announced the software lineup for the rest of 2008 and early 2009 for the PS3, PSP and PlayStation Network.

Sony confirmed that Media Molecules’ LittleBigPlanet and Guerrilla Games’ highly anticipated FPS Killzone 2 have been delayed and will only be released in the US in October 2008 and February 2009 respectively.

Insomniac Games’ Resistance 2, boasting 60 player online multiplayer and MyResistance.net, and MotorStorm Pacific Rift from Evolution Studios will be released this fall. Buzz! Quiz TV will debut on the PS3 with five different channels of questions including 5 000 questions while Buzz! Master Quiz will arrive on the PSP this fall featuring over 3 000 questions.

Sony also detailed games scheduled to arrive on the PlayStation Network this summer. These titles include construction puzzle game Elefunk, Q-Games’ platform game PixelJunk Eden, racer wipEout HD and episodic series Siren: Blood Curse.
