It’s been over a year since the PS Vita was first revealed, and amazingly we’ve now reached the point where just two weeks separate us from the system’s worldwide launch.
If you’re the kind of gamer who feels incomplete unless your console is connected to the internet, then the latest episode of Inside PS Vita is definitely for you.
The episode delves into PS Vita’s many social connectivity features such as LiveArea, Near and Party. In many ways PS Vita offers a better social experience than PS3. For instance LiveArea can be used by developers to inform you of your friends’ progress in a game, and you can use Party to cross-game chat with your friends - a feature which is sorely missing on PS3.
Have you pre-ordered your Vita yet? I noticed this morning that Kalahari.com are already sold out of both the 3G and WiFi models. Thankfully there’s still some stock available on TAKEALOT, although I don’t know for how long. It seems like the rush to secure a Vita on launch day has well and truly begun!
