We’ve known for a while that Mortal Kombat will be released on PS Vita during the second quarter of 2012, but videos of the game in motion have been non-existent up until now.
Mortal Kombat on PS3 and Xbox 360 is a great-looking title so I was very curious to see how the game’s fantastic Unreal Engine 3 visuals translated to the PS Vita.
Thankfully the PlayStation Blog finally scratched my itch by posting a gameplay video of Mortal Kombat running on Vita. The game looks remarkably close to the PS3 version from a distance, despite the inevitable loss of visual fidelity due to web compression.
Mortal Kombat on Vita includes all the DLC from the console versions as well as all-new Challenge Tower missions which take advantage of the PSV’s unique features. You can see an example of this in the video at 1:16 where your screen is obscured with blood during a fight.
Look out for tons more PS Vita coverage on El33tonline as we near the system’s launch on February 22nd.
