The news last week was indeed from Asura’s Wrath, although some of your spelling left a lot to be desired. It is the thought that counts, right? Asura’s Wrath releases in March and the bad news was of its delay until then.
This is going to be one crazy epic game!
The classic game was also guessed with some ease, mostly because it is Russell’s favourite game of all time: Sid Meier’s Pirates (the original, not the remake!)

The classic screenshot is from Karateka, Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner's first game. I remember playing it on the Commodore 64, it was notable for it's cinematic presentation but was ridiculously hard. That damn falcon used to annoy the crap out of me.
It's in the news because Jordan Mechner is looking to remake the game for XBLA/PSN/PC. I'm interested to see how it turns out.
Im totally stumped to be honest,I have played the first game becuase you start of by a cliff and run towards the enemy fight and then onto the next and next till the boss looking of for your lady.
As for the second one?? I m defeated!
Ok, here is my guess. The first one is Karateka, and I never got the hang of that game. Funny enough i looked at that game a few days ago. was looking for a other game but came up with that one. (The one I was looking for was Kung Fu on the NES). I was looking for game to put on my Android NES emulator.
the Second image might be SSX. looks like a snowboarders arm....but I'm shooting in the dark a bit. Hope I"m right.
Aaaah the memories of KARATEKA. I got many a foot in my face planted. Never finished it because it was insanelt difficult. The second image is PIXEL MAN. Well actually it isnt but with those many pizels it should be LOL
I've had a look at the box art on the link to the SSX demo, and I'm also going to guess that for the news cropping. Can't see anything in the picture, though.
Muhaha I said I'd get one of the classics right, and I've done it :D the first one is definitely Karateka and I've gotta agree with you guys, that game was flippen hard -__-
As for the second one, it's Bit.Trip Runner ;) actually I have no idea :(

@MacDeath - dont worry about the spelling... it is not as if Asura gets angry lightly. you need to really peeve him off before you feel his wrath... and then it HITS you!
