This week’s US PlayStation Store update is going to be the biggest in its five-year history thanks to sixteen PS Vita titles being added to the Store’s digital shelves.
The Store update will go live on February 14th, one day before thousands of lucky gamers in North America get their hands on the PS Vita First Edition Bundle.
The PlayStation Blog recently revealed which Vita titles will be available on the Store from tomorrow. They are:
- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
- WipEout 2048
- Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
- ModNation Racer: Road Trip
- Escape Plan
- Super Stardust Delta (Demo Available)
- Hustle Kings (Demo Available)
- Lumines: Electronic Symphony
- Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
- BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II
- EA Sports: FIFA Soccer
- Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition
- Asphalt Injection
- Dungeon Hunter: Alliance
- Michael Jackson: The Experience HD

This is a phenomenal launch lineup that includes some recent critical darlings such as Rayman Origins and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. It’s also great to see at least two demos available from the get-go, with more samplers expected to crop up on next week’s Store Update list.

Woah, that is a massive lineup! Cannot wait for the PS Vita to launch here in SA next week...9 days and counting
Some really awesome titles on that list, I really wish I could get one of these units next week. Starts crying again - But I will own one in the near future.
Really a less-than-stellar launch-lineup. I only see Remakes, Sequels and very-low-efforts. I don't know how some people can actually call this lineup "awesome". i mean,.. just because there are MANY titles does not mean they will be good. Take away all Remakes and Sequels (aka low efforts) from that launch-lineup and what do you get? Yep. Almost nothing. So please, take off your pink glasses and see the launch-lineup for what it is: A little bit lame. But since people care only about quantity and not quality we get comments like "awesome". This is really sad, because if people were a little bit less indifferent, the gaming-industry would not be in its desperate state of today. Think about it in a quiet minute.
One day but not yet but the lineup is looking amazing
@Myx - You're really laying it down man :) I have to say I agree with you. There are a couple of good games in there though, even if they are remakes and sequels. Great games? Probably not. But this is a decent group of launch titles nonetheless.
Looking at the list of titles, I can only single out one or two that I have no interest in at least trying out. They're all good in different ways and balance out the launch line-up very well.
I think when people are first greeted with the list they compare it the launch line-ups of other consoles and I would definitely say that the overall quality of this list is better than most other consoles (handhelds or otherwise) in history.
Does it matter that there are remakes and sequels in the list if they happen to be excellent games? Remember, this is a completely new platform and if you haven't played the home console versions of these games, they will be new to you. They'll also be new to lots of people who don't have time to sit down and play at home (or don't want to).
I think it's a fine launch line-up and PS Vita owners will have lots of excellent and interesting games to choose from.
the important thing to remember is that you don't generally see a console's best games at launch. the installed user base hasn't been established yet so developers don't take too many risks. this is why you see so many ports and sequels on this list. however, there are a couple of titles like gravity rush and escape plan which are new, exciting IPs which i'm definitely going to support. if you want to see more original games then vote with your wallet and pick the titles from the launch line-up which offer something new. that's the only way you're going to see a sequel to something like gravity rush on ps vita...
