Late last year, Eat Sleep Play’s David Jaffe wrote a heartfelt post post on the official PlayStation blogs announcing the unfortunate delay of the studio’s Twisted Metal.
The game was originally meant to release in October 2011, but the team felt it was necessary to put in an extra few months of work to create the game fans of the series truly deserved.
As a result, Twisted Metal received a new release date of February 14th in North America, but the car-wrecking action racer wasn’t blessed with an official launch date in Europe and the rest of the world.
That all changed today when Sony Computer Entertainment told industry site MCV that Twisted Metal would see the light of day in Europe and the UK on February 17th, thus following the regular ‘Tuesday/Friday’ release schedule of most titles.

Will be interesting to see what all the fuss is about when this game finally releases and we get an El33tonline review ... Cause this game just doesn't appeal to me that much :(
Doesn't appeal? But it's got cars with chainguns and rocket launchers! And massive explosions! And creepy clowns! And... ;)
No worries, if Twisted Metal is awesome, we'll try and convince you to pick it up. If it's not awesome... well, that's another story altogether. ;)
I played the original Twisted Metal on the PS1 and loved it. I can't tell you how many hours I poured into that game (and it's sequels) with my friends. So there's a bit of nostalgia at play for me personally. The game itself is a little dark and edgy, but the main thing the series has going for it is that it's simply a blast to play. I really hope this one lives up to the hype. Maybe there will be a demo to help make believers out of this generation of gamers.
Twisted Metal is such a fun game. I might pick this one up. the clowns scares me (well all clowns scare me) ......i just said too much. I had so much fun in this game back. looking forward to it.

Loved this game since the first one arrived on the scene way back in the PSX era. When Twisted metal arrived on the PS2 me, Bro october and Fletbed played that game for hours and hours and we picked up are favourite phrase to say when we ran someone down in a game with a vehicle 'Vehicular Homicide' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter', my favourite words in Battlefield.
