Capcom working on Ace Attorney 5, first three titles coming to iOS

The Ace Attorney series is one of Capcom’s most comical and downright entertaining properties of the modern era. The past ten years have seen four titles in the main series being released, with 2007’s Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney being the franchise’s last numbered entry (the Japanese title was ‘Gyakuten Saiban 4’ - Turnabout Trial 4).

Capcom recently held an event marking the series’ 10th anniversary. The Japanese developer used this occasion to reveal that Ace Attorney 5 is currently in development, although they offered no details on target platform or release date.

Ace Attorney games have always been developed for Nintendo handhelds (previously Game Boy Advance and DS) so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the fifth game in the main series is exclusive to 3DS.

Capcom also used the anniversary event to announce that the first three Ace Attorney titles will be released on iOS devices (and eventually Android) sporting high resolution artwork. You’ll be able to sample the first two chapters of each game for free, with additional chapter packs being available for purchase from the iTunes Store.

No release date was given for these three classic titles starring gaming’s most famous attorney - Phoenix Wright.
