It’s finally here. The fifth iteration of the venerable Soul Calibur weapons-based fighter is due for release tomorrow in the US and later this week around the rest of the world, and a crushing launch trailer has been released just in time to stoke the excitement for franchise fans.
But that’s not the half of it.
To fully celebrate the launch of Soul Calibur V around the world this week, graffiti artists took to London’s East End to create a masterful mural depicting some of the game’s greatest characters, namely Nightmare, Patroklos and Ezio Auditore (from Assassin’s Creed).
Watch as painter Jim Rockwell creates the mural in a time-lapsed video below, and then get the skinny:
Soul Calibur V - Graffiti Transforms London’s East End
“The Great Eastern Street wall in London’s East End received a facelift last week, a brand new paint job for 2012, celebrating the release of Soul Calibur V.
“The visual masterpiece in the heart of Shoreditch took three long days and was painted by the East End’s infamous painter decorator extraordinaire, JIM ROCKWELL: Graffiti artist & Creative Director of ENDoftheLINE. A time-lapsed video, filmed and painted on location shows the entire process from beginning to end, capturing the mural in all its glory.
“The huge 16 metre wall features legendary character Nightmare and new additions to the roster Patroklos and Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed. The Great Eastern Wall is an ongoing project from ENDoftheLINE, a permanant Public Art Gallery that, in the last two years has featured some of London’s most notorious graffiti artists, and has hosted international artists from around the globe.”

That guy is good, Cape town mayor should hire some of these graffiti artist to spray the front side of Table mountain with a big 33 logo and below that a message brought to you by P33PS. CLASSIC!!! ;) Now isn't that kwaai now it truly is one of the seven wonders of the world.
This is looking really good, intersting to see Ezio would love to see how his moves work on a fighting game.
It'll be nice to see Ezio's moves in a fighting game, I agree. He's not really the fast-paced fighter like most Soul Calibur players, so let's just hope he doesn't have insta-kill counter attacks! ;)
Haha, we would definitely support that endeavour Fullmetal! Well, only if the paint could wash off... eventually... ;)
Ezio is a fitting addition to the Soul Calibur universe with his weapon-based attacks, but I'm hoping he's more than just a gimmick to boost sales.
I would love to have this game, but the next game I"m buying is Diablo 3 CE so this will have to wait.
damm those guys are good. I agree with Fullmetal, the should do a 33toLife with the 33 logo in every major city is SA. and a BF3 Friday......
