Let's get tricky: This pair of SSX trailers defies reality in extreme measures

You might be forgiven for thinking that the action portrayed in SSX is a ‘sport.’

In real life, snowboarding is rightfully called a ‘sport,’ but once this activity goes through the videogame filter of ‘unreality’ before being massaged, strained and squeezed through a sieve of ‘awesome,’ the act of riding a board through the snow and down a mountain becomes something else entirely. Something more extreme and more death defying than any mere human could manage.

But that’s what videogames are all about and in SSX, EA is actively inviting you to defy reality and perform massive jumps, carve through treacherous terrain and rapidly glide through and over gaps in order to reach the end of the race course.

Go on then, defy reality in the latest pair of SSX trailers - you’ll be glad you did:

SSX is out on February 28th in the US and March 2nd around the rest of the world, across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

El33tonline’s previous coverage of SSX will hit you between the eyes and our preview will provide the knock-out punch… or something like that.

There’s also talk of a demo for SSX, but we’ll let you know if anything official crops up.

Lolz That flying squirrel move is bat sh*t crazy :)

It's insane, no? It's going be hectic flying down on a slope and then leaping off of a cliff face before gliding off onto the next slope!

That video clinched it for me - SSX is looking raaaadical!
