As El33tonline toured around South Africa in an effort to crash as many gaming events as we could within the space of a single week, we had another chance to sample one of the get-togethers that gamers in Cape Town organise on a weekly basis.
The location for these meet-ups is never set in stone (as we soon learned), but the particular gathering that we attended was held at the Braza restaurant in Canal Walk shopping centre where Lisa and I got to chat with local gamers over some eats.
These meet-ups are very casual and informal and anyone is invited to attend and mingle with regulars like Grant Hinds (MWEB GameZone), Dumidu Surasinghe (OneLargePrawn), Bryan Banfield (videogame community manager) and other well-known personalities in the local game industry.
Of course, opportunities abound to talk about our collective hobby of videogames and discuss topics ranging from the latest games and innovations to brand new gadgets and technologies - they’re all like-minded individuals who no doubt share your passion for geek culture.
We definitely had a great time talking about all kinds of important and silly things throughout the evening, and if you would like to attend one of these meet-ups, you should look out for information at the following Twitter accounts and clear your Thursday night schedules!
